Request: Component Video (RGB) Switches

Having finally bought an RGB cable for my Wii, I now need a way to switch RGB signals (DVD/DIVX player, PS2, Wii) to my projector.

My reciever only handles composite/s-video, and at the prices I'm finding RGB switches, It's half or more the cost of a new reciever.

Tried Amazon, meritline, and monoprice, with no luck. Thanks.
Do you want something with a IR sensor for a remote, or are you happy with flipping a switch manually?
Anything. I'm more than happy with a manual switch (I haven't actually seen one for component, only for composite switches)

Any composite switch you find at Radio Shack or Gamestop will ALSO work as a component switcher! It doesn't matter that the colors don't match your cables, just that you keep the connection the same at both ends of the connector. For example, match red to red, blue to white, and green to yellow.

Two things to keep in mind: This will not work if you also need to put the audio through the switch, as each input only has 3 slots, and you're using the 2 that are usually reserved for audio.

The other thing is that your video signal is only as good as your poorest connection, so don't get a switch that looks like it was made of wood scraps, lead based toys and rat droppings.

In other words, get something that looks more like this:

and less like this:

To simplify my last post, please understand that composite and component both use RCA plugs, so you don't necessarily need a "component" switcher. Look around Gamecrazy, Gamestop, Target, whatever for a cheap composite switcher and save a lot of money.

same RCA plug, just different plastic color outside

Thanks, I just dug an old A/V Selector I had in the garage out and hooked it up. there seems to be a bit of a shift towards the red end (probably just a small impedance mismatch since it has a built in RF modulator) but it should work for a while.

Edit: yeah, I guess it takes an electrical engineering degree to forget that Component is still just a 1 v p-p, 75ohm standard, just with 3 cables.
