I saw this at a borders express store at a mall in salem oregon where i live...

Eh, I'll probably end up getting it at Costco like I did the last few books. They have always had them really cheap. Thanks for the post!
 
This seems to be the same deal that Amazon, Waldenbooks, Borders, Barnes and Noble, etc. are running:

Pre-order and you get 40% off the regular (List) price of $29.99. It ends up being $17.99, and the stores will sell it that price on the day of release probably. There was a similar deal/situation like this with the last book.
 
Costco and places like that always sell books cheap :p
And it'll probably end up selling for 18 bucks anyway XD

Good find though OP. 40% is good, considering it is with pre-order.
 
hmm final price is 17.99 after 40%? no thanks , when book 5 came out walmart had it out at midnight and for 15.99 , ill go again to walmart knowing it wont be anymore then the 17.99 and ill get it earlier
 
All major retailers should have this at 40 percent off for at least a week. Some publishers like to do this to improve first week sales for big name authors. James Patterson did something similar with Honeymoon earlier this year (50 percent off).

Well, this is the largest initial print in history, just like the other Harry Potters before it. Odds are it will set all sorts of book records.
