Resident Evil 6

From what I saw in the trailer, Leon's gameplay sections reminded me of Resident Evil 4, so no big surprise there. Chris' sections gave me the impression that Capcom was attempting to merge a modern military FPS/TPS game with the Resident Evil franchise. I really REALLY wish companies would stop trying to take their IPs, and twist and mutate them until they're practically CoD/BF/MoH clones. FEAR 3 did this, and I did not enjoy the game nearly as much as I thought I would. Then today I read the article on Joystiq about how Capcom wants to bring CoD players over to the Resident Evil franchise and it confirmed my suspicions on the matter. Needless to say, I'll be waiting for reviews of Resident Evil 6 before getting it. While it looks promising, I'm not willing to take any chances.

Trailer looks great. I'm excited for it. I hope has a better atmosphere than 5 did, but either way I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
now you only need to figure out how many versions of the game will be released.
Capcom only does that for fighting games. :bouncy:
re5, re5 gold edition. dmc3, dmc3 se.
Well gold edition was just the DLC bundled and SE was because DMC 3 was to hard. :bouncy:

I almost feel like it's too soon for another Resident Evil game. I don't want to be disappointed again [so soon], as was the case when I first played Resident Evil 5. The high I came off of after beating Resident Evil 4 was exhilarating and I couldn't wait to play the next Resident Evil game, but then I played Resident Evil 5 and felt there was much to be desired.

Many of the things that made RE4 great were taken out or dumbed down for RE5. The inventory system for one was extremely stripped down. Chris and Sheva were only able to hold 9 items each. The collecting/combining treasures in RE4 was really unique and made it worth your while for thoroughly exploring areas. RE4's environments and darker atmosphere set a more believable ambiance. The guns felt more realistic in RE4.One thing I noticed in RE5 that bothered me to no end was when Chris would reload the shotgun. Although it may have been out of shells, the animation for reloading only showed Chris reloading 2 shells and then you would be back up to 10 shotgun shells etc.

In all honesty the first RE game I had played had been RE4, so I may be a bit biased. But between the time I had beaten RE4 and the time RE5 had been released I had gone on to play REmake, RE0, & RE3. All of them were great games and held their own in different ways than RE4. Then I played RE5 and felt completely uninspired by it. I ended up selling RE5 before I had even beaten the game on my 1st play through. In contrast I beat RE4 probably 6-7 times in a row back to back.

Hopefully this faster paced look that RE6 is taking on compensates for the abysmal movement that has been present in past games. I'm not holding my breath though.

This, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are the 2 games I'm excited about this year. I enjoyed RE5 a lot. I hope this one has awesome co-op with an actual scary environment.

Damn, I'm going to be in Boot Camp for the Marine Corps this Novemeber.

WHYYYYYYYY, GOD WHY?!?!?!

On the bright side, it's going to cheaper when you come back.

I'm just really happy Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City isn't RE6, since it seems more and more like a RE Outbreak sequel to me and those games broke my heart. Maybe that's different now with an easy to use online service like XBL or PSN, but I still can't forget how shitty and soulless the Outbreak titles were.

Ah yes, I was idiotic enough to buy both of the Outbreak titles. They were ok, and some of the ideas behind them were actually pretty cool, but as a whole they simply weren't fun. Not to mention unless one had the HDD, the load times were horrendous. Capcom seemed a bit ahead of the times with those games.

i always wanted to try outbreak but by the time i came close to getting them id heard the severs werent up anymore. that said dead island more than made up for missing that especially when playing online with others.
