So i bought 21 xbox 360 games for $20. They all have a light scratch closest to the inner ring of the disc.

Id like to trade some in at Gamestop but about half of them id like to keep. Ive read that GameCrazy does a fine job resurfacing discs but i dont know how much it costs. Is there a resurfacing unit i can buy at target that will do just as good?

Also, does gamestop take the games if they dont include the case and instructions? All i have are the discs and Im almost positive they'll take them but lowball me on the store credit because of it.

The resurfacing I don't know much about.

They take all games even if they're disc only and they don't give you less credit if it doesn't include the case, you'll just most likely get a disc rebuff fee added, no matter what condition they're in.

If the game was buffed by you or some one else chances are the store is not going to risk adding it to their Iventory, Thus you will get a referb fee 1-2$ ish give or take... and if they are scratched your going to get the same fee.

I believe they charge $2 per disc to resurface them, but they typically have a special of 3/$5. As for other machines to resurface the discs, stay away from the Disc Doctor/Skip Doctor as they make them actually look WORSE.

Now, onto the question about Gamestop and the trade-ins. They may or may not assess you a refurb fee for not having the original case/manual/artwork. That is totally up to the employees unfortunately and as of late every store in my area has been adding fees for incomplete games.

This is Gamestop we're talking about here. Home of 'newsed' games and games that look like they were used as a teething ring for a baby. I'm shocked that Gamestop is starting to seemingly charge universal refurb fees anymore. If they don't take the OP's games I'd be VERY shocked.

Disc Doctors are only good if you have a game you aren't trading in and it absolutely doesn't work. I've had one for a few years, and I only use it on lost causes. I did revive a couple games using it, but they definitely don't look too good afterwards.
How much is the rebuff fee?
Highest rebuff fee I've had is 10 bucks, but it was on a big trade in of 37 games.

I think when you trade in a lot of stuff they use some kind of multiplier system of math on it.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll try Gamecrazy, hopefully they'll have the 3/$5 deal going on.

Also, are gamecrazy's trade-in values higher/lower than GS? Will they take games without case and manual?

I'm pretty sure they take them without cases and manual, but I'm not sure.. I've only traded to GC three times and all three times I had everything. Their trade values are usually higher or on par with GS but they don't run giant trade-in deals like the amazing tiered trade that GS does from time-to-time.

You might also want to look into Toys R'Us, since they'll take games without a manual, but they do require an original case and artwork or they cut the TIV in HALF.

The refurb fee isn't a set amount. It depends on the price of the game. The more the game is worth in trade, the higher the fee. The highest you'll see is $4, and that's for games that trade in for $25 or more.

Game Crazy's official pricing structure is 1 disc for $1.99 or 5 for $5.

The buffer we use doesn't completely remove the ring, but it does lighten it, depending on the severity.
