You can now return used games to EB because they put this special seal on the case, if you don't break the seal you can return!

Well.. enjoy this while you can. Asshats will abuse this until they have to take the policy back away. Of course it's also yet another sticker you have to try to remove from your case...

If I buy a used game, don't break the sticker, then return it 6 days later, is that 'abusing' it?
I used to spend more to buy from EB because of their generous return policy. I returned maybe three games, and two of them I returned the next day. One game, yes, I almost beat within 4 days and returned it for that reason; my thinking in that case was 'If I almost beat it in 4 days, is it worth 30 bucks?' answer of course was No. But I played the crap out of, and kept, the game I exchanged for it.
Now, people who sliiiide the sticker off, or somehow re-seal it after playing and beating it then return the game, that definitely is abuse.
I assume if, once you open it, if you find the disk is scratched all to hell, they'll still take it as a 'defective' return? [maybe exchange only for same product, I don't have a problem with that re: defective.]

yeah, I bought a GBA game the other day and the jack off puts the sticker right over the face label of the game. I about killed him. He slapped it on there and pressed it over the game before I could say "no! you asshat, what are you doing?". Luckily, as soon as he handed it to me, I peeled it off and it didn't damage the face label.
shaq-fu eb and their used games. shaq-fu gamestops too.
Hehehe, that's why Game Crazy is better than everyone. We give more trade in credit, charge less for used games, and actually know what we're doing.

Hooray for us!

hell yes. yet again, EB sent me one of their "used-but-new" resealed games, when I explicitly purchased a new one from their site. there's a big-ass yellow sticker of theirs on the GBA box underneath the plastic. how in shaq-fuing hell do they think that counts as new?!?

Im sure you can be expecting a visit from the moral police for this.
EB's been doing this for a long time now.
long long time. I thought this was someone bumping an old thread.

i don't know which gamecrazy you work at, but the three up by me are very, very lazy.

they have games that are greatest hits, platinum hits, and 20 dollars in general, with 49.99 price stickers, and 49.99 price markers (that they put under the title)

the stores are always unclean, with things all over the floor, accessories mostly, some strategy guides.

and the employs are dumb as they get too....as well as very lazy and unwilling to help.

Same.

For reference, I always insist that they don't put that sticker on there. It's annoying to have to go through yet another sticker with more residue. I've had to tear the receipt up at the counter before because they thought I was trying some sort of scam or who knows what. I think they're used to it now.

No, you miss the point, now they use plastic things that can't be pulled off without ripping the sticker, but you can always buy more stickers!

I don't work at one, but it's my favorite place for vidoe games since they have awesome deals.
stckers ruin cases
Hell yes. The old way with a single SMALL price tag on the front and another small UPC sticker on the back is tasteful.

I hate those big honkin' stickers!!

when i need new cases, i just take one of the playstation jampack's i got for a penny from CC last year, open them up, throw every thing away in it, and use it.

i bought 50 of those lucasarts demo cases for xbox at best buy last year when they were a penny each too for the x box needs.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought you could always return used stuff to eb within 14 days? Is this sticker thing new and does it mean I can no longer return within 14 days?

Yeah Tehy've always told me 14 days too. Not breaking a seal on used game makes no sense. I mean how the devil do you tell if it works or not if you can't break the seal? On an even better note, when I bought my used games at GS last week they said I had 60 days to return the used games if theywere defective.

I have never gotten a seal put on any of my used games at EB, and the reciept does clearly say 14 days. I just bought a couple games 2 days ago too, and still no seal. Did this start up like today?

They stopped letting you return a used game before 14 days at my EB. They said people abuse it too much.

Screw them...if the game is defective it's getting returned plain and simple. No two ways about it, I'm not going to be stuck with a game that doesn't work.
