I bought the Xbox one a couple weeks ago at Target but am thinking about returning it...anyone know if I would have trouble returning it if it has been opened?

Instead of that, just offer it up on craigslist for about $700 or so. Make some money off that P.O.S.

And since they don't have anything to exchange it with, you should be ok to return it.

Craigslist is flooded with them, people trying to sell them for even $600 can't.  Not worth the aggravation and risk for the little bit of profit.

To be fair, it's not that I hate it, but for $500 +, the combination of a lack of next gen games and the little things that just need to be fixed or polished up....

I will probably re-buy it possibly sometime next year

The prices for these are plummeting. I have my PS4 still unopened and wanted to return it after about a week since it simply wasn't going be played (no time). But my return window is closes on the 11th, I think, and I'm still thinking I could make a few bucks if I were to sell it. I was thinking of dumping it on CL or eBay but from what I'm seeing PS4s and X1s still show up in stock in stores/online.

There still so much time until Christmas that it's hard to say what will happen. Will supply catch up more or will they become even harder to find? Will people still want it or settle for something else?

Well, to my surprise...I went to Best Buy this morning to trade in a few games because their site is showing the 100% extra again for trades and there was a line to get in the store so I walk up and a BB guy asks if I was there to buy a console.

I said do you have the PS4 and he said yeah so what the heck I bought one, lol.  I got over $200 in credit on 5 games that I din't want anyways ($50 for Madden that I bought for $5, lol).

Now I just have to decide whether I keep it or try to sell it.

FYI - even though the BB site shows the 100% extra for game trades, their system did not add it.  I had to show them the site and they manually added the extra.

Really? How so? I have my xbox one up since the 1st of December. I just recently got two people interested. Maybe, I just have bad luck. I need some christmas money.
Around here they are still hard to find, it's a rural area, so not a lot of places to go get one. People around here also have more money than sense.

I saw about 25 people in front of Best Buy (in the snow) waiting for them to open when I was on the way to church this morning.

It's really all supply and demand, and there is less supply than demand here.

It's hard to get money back on a console, especially when that console costs so much. If you had problems with the console itself, maybe it doesn't play games or something like that, then you could return it, but you should just try to sell it online. Craigslist may not be the best idea though, try Ebay or something.
