Returning a game bought with a special Gamestop trade in deal.

Ok so,

I traded in NHL 10 and COD: World at War and got 40 dollars towards Reach (which is higher than their current trade in values). My question is; Can I return the game for full value, for at least store credit?
 
Haven't done so myself, but from what I've read you should be able to get $40 store credit, with the remainder of the full price returned to you however you bought it.
