Riverside County (CA) Voter Registration Issues

Upon returning from Las Vegas on Sunday, I found out that a friend of mine had gotten their election information and sample ballot for the 11/2 elections. Curious as to why I had not received mine, I waited. Today, I decided to check online. Apparently, according to the county of Riverside, I'm not registered to vote, even though I registered again after moving to California (using this address I'm at now) and voted in the last election. What the fuck?

The website said (and still says, even after calling) "No voters have this birthday and last 4 numbers." The 4 numbers in question are either the last 4 numbers of my state issued identification, or my Social Security number. The same response came up for both. When I called, I was told that I was removed from the list because some agency reported that I moved to another county. I have lived in the same house for 3 years. They would not give me any further information.

Now I have to write and fax a letter telling them to send election information and a vote-by-mail ballot to me, even though I already had all that set up. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? It all sounds very suspicious. Of course, this is the same county that registered me as a Republican even though I chose Democrat on the form.

I think you answered your own question there, brother. :D

I didn't have to re-register. They placed me as inactive since somebody lied and told them I moved to a different county for no apparent reason, and the woman on the phone said she reactivated me. I have been registered in this state since 2007.

looks like the issue is that you're registered to vote. Shouldn't do that. Only bad things can happen. ;)
