Rosenqueen has Last Rebellion (PS3) and Sakura Wars: So Long My Love preorder deals

CAGiversary!
Rosenqueen has Last Rebellion (PS3 RPG) and Sakura Wars: So Long My Love (PS2/Wii) preorder deals.

They're both $50. Last Rebellion includes a poster and Sakura Wars: So Long My Love a nice 40-page, hardcover artbook. I was gonna get Sakura Wars, but the cheapest shipping was over $10!

Months ago I posted a deal on Last Rebellion, which Amazon had for $40. It's $50 there now. I got it then, with ECA and Sakura Wars I'll get from Amazon with $10 Bioshock2 credit.

Rosenqueen does have those games available for pre-order with some extra swag thrown in but I wouldn't call them "deals" exactly.

Not to mention that mark up the price for their preorder bundles after including the bonus.

The Sakura War artbook will be effectively $20 after their $10 mark up and ~$10 shipping, considering you can get the game itself for $40 or less from another retailer.

if you order both together the shipping is better than both separate

but you won't get either until Sakura Wars comes out (orders with preorders don't ship until everything is available)

Early Japanese reviews indicate that Last Rebellion isn't worth it at all. Sad because I like the art style and really was looking forward to this game since it was announced.

Actually, I preordered Sakura Wars for Wii for $30 from Gamestop. So the hardcover book, while desirable, is $20 before the $10 shipping ding. I love my Sakura Taisen, but it's just not worth it, especially considering the fulfillment horror stories I've heard about Rosenqueen.

I'll wait to see if the book is sold separately at a more reasonable price, or simply go without.

Rosenqueen is probably the most shady, dishonest, outright terrible online retailer I've ever dealt with. Avoid them like the plague.

I agree. I never did get my Prinny pouches (or the limited bonus items, like most) from the pre-xmas sets they had even though they promised they were shipped out. I kept asking for a tracking number and they just stopped replying. I eventually gave up. :/

So yeah, even if shipping was free, I would take my business elsewhere.

Stay away from the Last Rebellion. Unless of course, you enjoyed Dragoneer's Aria (M-people?) since it's the same developer.

Sakura Wars V is an okay game. I don't like it at all compared to the others, but with it being the only option that is localized, I'm not going to go around and complain about something that can't be changed :p

I actually really enjoyed Dragoneer's Aria and I thought it was severly underrated. The battle system was similar to Shadow Hearts (if you chose to guard, which you should), the guarding mechanic was very unique and the graphics were very good for a PSP RPG (almost on par with Brave Story).

Hitmaker, same people as Blade Dancer. All I have to say about Last Rebellion is that it's just like all of their other games: wholly mediocre

LR was said to be created for the western audience in mind (from what I gathered from the NISA forums.) It's no wonder the Japanese called it crap.

Uuuuugh... I've already got the PS2 version of Sakura Wars preordered at Game$top, but I really want the artbook. Do I get the Wii version to get the artbook? Uuuuuuuuugh.

Yes. You do.

The Wii version is $40 + $10.xx shipping.

I'm looking at the artbook on RQ and G$ and they seem to be the same, the only difference seems that RQ has more items thrown in the bundle.

With that said, RQ is, more or less, accurate when it comes to Pre-orders... granted you ordered it at least a month in advance, otherwise you are take a chance of them running out of said bonus items. A bigger issue here is that for pre-orders, they either ship the game really early, and you get the game a day or two earlier than it's street date, or they ship the game really late, as in a week late, so if you're one of those "day one" players, it may be more of a hassle than it's worth.

I thought the bundled artbook was the same in all stores, but the extra artbook was Rosenqueen exclusive?

That said, I've never had a problem with rosenqueen and have had good experiences with them.
