Rumor: Halo 4 Coming 5/24/2009

If actually true, it would be a tentative name for a different story arc in the same war (such as the novels)

In short, the war is over, we won, now let's look at it again from the eyes of Spartan-023 of Marine Michael Fluffytits.

Current link in the OP is a pretty weak rumor IMO. Some third party mentions Halo 4 in an eBay auction for a VO in Halo 3...

Where did the specific date come from? Somebody have a new link?
 
Well there is another sequel, that much is for sure based on the ending on hard mode, where Master Chief is in hibernation over an unnamed planet...but can they still call it halo :whistle2:\
 
Theres no Halo 4, and if they did have another one, it would be released in 2010
Halo 1: 2001
Halo 2: 2004
Halo 3: 2007

Yea but they don't have anymore cool clothes anyway. Except the cloak that allows you to summon bats.
 
I seem to recall Shane/1up/"Quartermann" strongly insinuating that the next Halo (as in, FPS, anyway), has been moved back to be a launch title for the next Xbox. This only makes perfect sense and the timing fits, although I'm wondering if people will still really care about Master Chief by then and if it'll be enough to overcome the ill will the 360 and its flashing red, three-quarters circle are generating. Seriously, is anyone going to really be in a hurry to get their next offering at launch or even six months later? I know I'm not.
 
We won't have a new standard FPS-style Halo until the next XBox, and that won't be out in 2009.

I LOL'd at the "Gen. Discussion and Info" on the subject line, though. Anything to be first, I guess.

*Edit* - That Kotaku story is from February, so I guess plenty of other people had the opportunity to be first and just didn't feel like it since this is a nothing story.

Yeah, there's not doubt there will be a sequel, and it will be called Halo 4 despite the fact that there are no more Halos in the galaxy (well, hopefully they don't cop out and discover more etc.).

It was called Marathon, and was one of Bungie's first (if not the first) game. They made the hidden ending on Halo 3 a reference to that.

I'm wondering why the OP posted up a link that is more then a year ago, and where does it say about it coming 5/24/2009? April fools doesn't start in march... :whistle2:?

As for Halo 4, maybe MS is getting some company besides Bungie to make it. You know, like how Infinity Ward does a COD game and then Treyarch does a crappy one.
