Safest, Cheapest way to ship to Europe?

Anyone shipped to Europe before? What's the safest, cheapest way? It looks like it'll cost $55 minimum to have a game shipped through Canada Post with delivery confirmation which is a little excessive ._. Trying to send to the Netherlands.

$55? Really? I sent a regular parcel with tracking with Canada Post to England (it was a 4 lbs box) for ~$40
