Satirical "Ban Divorce in California" intiative becomes potential ballot

I propose a grandfather clause that makes all currently divorced couples remarried.

Good - you want sacred marriage, you get all the fucking sacred you can handle. I'd vote for this measure.
 
Oh christ... I can just see this passing and then the news reports it's unconstitutional or we're not suppose to be able to vote on something like this in the first place.

Couples could still get their marriages annulled under the proposal.

As hilarious as this is I hope to get it doesn't even get out of the gate. You can't make progress by shooting yourself in the foot.

Why can't we ban all marriage and be done with this already. You can file for joint taxes from the government and you can get married in the church and neither of those two will ask the status from the other. Case closed.

Separation of church and state doesn't exist.
