here we have a petition for those of us who do support the hd-dvd format...simple, either sign it or don't. it will be submitted to the major corps that are involved in the format war.

this was not posted to stir up any bickering but to enlighten those who didn't know this existed.

oh yeah, moderator please move this topic to where you see fit!
 
Only your wallet can save HD-DVD, not online petitions. If somethings not making money, do you think they're going to keep it around just because you want them to?
 
It is sad to see HD-DVD losing out so much lately. I have not really gotten involved in HD movies even though I own a PS3, DVDs are just so cheap I can't justify paying 2x as much. The benefit of HD-DVD/BLU-RAY over DVD does not compare to the advantages of DVD over VHS.

I was really hoping when I saw this thread it didnt actually have one of those online petition things in it. But alas it did.

I'm pretty sure companies have come out and said that online petitions don't mean shit to them. I mean, what would you do if someone emailed you a big list of people named:

2697.Freddy Kruger
2679.Simon Pegg
3910.MARSAUDON
3871.bigkid
4960.Deepthroat

and plenty more, I just clicked 3 random pages and took a few of the winners. 5000 online signatures, which could all be like 10 people signing over and over with different names, isn't going to reverse multi-million dollar descisions. If everyone who signed that list bought like 5 high-end HD-DVD players and copies of every movie out for the format, maybe the list wouldn't get put up for laughs in the Warner bathroom.
