Saved games and SD cards

When you backup your saved games to your SD card, will they be updated automatically or do you have to manually resave games for your SD card to be up to date?
 
When you backup the save, you're only backing up that particular save at that time. It doesn't update as far as I know, so you need to write over it with the latest each time.
 
and just so everyone knows, for now, you can only move wii specific stuff to the sd card. you can't move gamecube saves to the sd card .... yet

Thanks. I was just about to ask that. I'm sick of having 6 GC memory cards. And a few of them are the 251s.
