I think stopping after season 1 could be a decent option. Season 2 & 3 each have some decent episodes, but both seasons are heavily bogged down by one annoying storyline each. In season 2, one of the best characters is out of the picture for a significant part of the season and in season 3, there is a newer character whose presence overwhelms the show. And then you can factor in the lack of a true conclusion...

Bummer that you canceled...I wish it had ended more definitively, but would never regret watching the three seasons that they did do, personally.

I'd fully recommend this show to just about anyone, lame non-ending or not.

lol no worries, I have Breaking Bad now to start...
and will watch out for some super cheap copies of DWood 2/3...
(bought season 1 at a gsale for $5)

I really like to buy seasons and watch them straight through... I hate waiting week to week and the frikin commercials...

Other than sitcoms (The Office, Parenthood, New Girl) or very slow-moving dramas, I just never do well with week-to-week anymore. It's bed enough waiting season-to-season with some shows (Dexter, Breaking Bad, True Blood) and I don't have the memory, patience, or schedule to do the old weekly show format. Not to mention no DVR...or cable...
