I work at a gamestore and i just scored a cardboard cutout standee of fallout new vegas and i was like idk what to do with it looked online and it goes for like 100-200 dollars+

The easiest way is to not take a picture of the entire thing. The standees have a hidden code on it so when the Bethesda team put a special film over the screen it shows what store it was sent to.

Seriously? Why are they going to so much trouble over these..?

It's basically property of the publisher, and they have the right to have it back once the game's been released.

I got to score one of these bad boys, too, when MW2 came out.

Just an FYI, all you have to do at Gamestop is ask to have your name put on the standee. They'll call you up when they are about to throw it out and let you take it home for free. I got several standees back in 2004 doing that, StarFox Assault is the only one I have left at the moment.
