Scratches on UMD?

I've noticed one of my games has a small scratch on the plastic part of the UMD. Will this effect gameplay? I guess I scratched it when I removed the UMD from the UMD slot, after all, it's metal in there.

You shouldn't be able to scratch it when removing it from the slot. Nothing touches the disc.

I'm going to say you're wrong. I've noticed that all my discs have this problem now. They are all in the same spot and same length.

The scratch is very faint and is not on the disc, just the plastic part.

If the scratch is on the plastic UMD holder, it won't affect gameplay at all. Just make sure that the UMD itself doesn't get scratched.

And like you said it, the scratches are probably from removing/inserting the UMD in the UMD slot (metal part that holds the UMD plastic). I think it's common for that plastic to get scratched and the reason it covers the UMD.

Yeah, I thought you meant the disc. I haven't noticed any scratches on the plastic, but haven't really looked. My discs have never been scratched though.
