I just went to a tread that offered A LOT of free codes, and apparently the majority went to lurkers, so it got me thinking

Is there a way to create a script for this site so that you only see it (whatever is in the tags) if you have a certain join date/post count?

such as [hiddenxx] code(s)[/hiddenxx]
where xx would be the min number of post count you would need to see the code(s)


I'm no coder, so I have no clue if this is possible

That won't help, you'll get lurkers that've posted maybe 25 times. Only way to truly enforce things is by users not just posting openly.

Just post in the message saying you want to give it to regulars and for people to PM you if they want a code.

Then you can give it to whoever you want etc.

As someone else said, ask people to PM you for codes, and tell them what codes you are offering. But, keep the thread updated with what codes you are giving out etc.

The smartest way to save the codes from Lurkers are to make people PM you, then judge them based on their Post Count, etc. Obviously don't give them to people with 0 posts, or 5-10 posts.

If they're lurkers than they probably spend more time on this site than you.

Some people just don't want to sign up for a site, some sites require you to sign up to view the forums when you don't even want to or just need one simple answer. I signed up for some sites just to view a image that only members can view. That's some BS.
 
I have a solution. Make every part of the forums accessible by only members and so no lurkers will be given access and be able to view & use any codes. That way only members may view and get the codes.
