Sega Genisis questions

best online stores are ebay, yahoo auctions, and eb games.

gamestop does not carry genesis games anymore but the next best places to go are pawn shops, thrift stores life salvation army, tag sales, and also those local video game stores around your area.

check the yellow pages under "video games" and go to one of those stores.

You have this in the wrong forum, but have you tried your local pawn shops for the Genny? I know the ones around here get them by the dozens. Not sure how much they charge for them anymore, as I have had one for a looooonnnggg time.

Personally I'd ask the pawn shop guy if you could hook it up to make sure it works before buying. Although the old cart based systems tend to hold up pretty well.

If you really want that specific console I would just buy it on eBay. I pop in thrift stores all the time and hit a ton of yard sales over the past summer and have seen a Genesis maybe 4 or 5 times. In other words you might have to hit a lot of places before you find one. But I enjoy the hunt, so if you're like me it might be fun to hit a bunch of places and track one down.

If you are feeling lucky, try an EBgames store. I found 2 Genesis systems, complete with 2 controllers, for $6 each a few days ago. That's about as cheap as they get.

I can't even count how many times I've seen loose Genesis consoles in the thrifts around here.

If you get your Genesis at a thrift store or Flea market, make sure it has all the hookups before buying - I've heard Genesis AC adaptors can be tough to find.

You also should try www.craigslist.com. If you've never heard of it before, its like newspaper listings but online. You just look for your local area in it. Works pretty great since you can just meet up with the seller and not pay shipping.

I found a Genesis with 2 controllers and 3 games with everything in their original boxes for $25. It was in pristine condition. I couldn't believe it when the Genesis box still had a Electronics Boutique price tag marked $99.99 and the extra controller was marked for $19.99.

not sure aboot the prices, but check Music Recyclery. They always have a ton of Genesis stuff.

The one I went to today even had a boxed CDX for $129. I'd grab it, but I got my CDX with a 32X and like 11 games for about the same price earlier this year.
