I have a few older xbox games that I want to get rid of, but want to get the most out of them. So which do you guys think would be better. Should I sell them on ebay or do you thank I'll get more money out of them if I take them to a Gamestop or an EB Games? I'd kind of rather have cash, but if I get more out of it for trading them in for store credit, I might do that instead.

Go to FYE if you have one near you. They will give you 75% of the total in cash, and usually you get good prices from them.

Otherwise Ebay would probably get you more money. The only time its worth it to trade in games to EB or Gamestop is when they have one of their "get $$$$ bonus when trading in (certain number) of games".

I prefer half.com, as it is faster and they don't take as much out of you. With ebay, they take a fee for listing it, when it sells, and then the paypal fee. And don't get me started on the anal raping retail traders do.

Hmmm, I didn't even know there was a Fye by me. So I'd get 75% of what there selling the game for? Also does it matter if the game is complete or not?

I'll check out half.com too and check out thier prices too.

sell them here on cag, thats where i usually get most for my games (unless its a valuable game, then if no one here buys, i take it to ebay.)

the cost for ebay is %15, which can sometimes be more than ebay listing fee + paypal

If FYE was going to give you $100 and you wanted cash, you would get $75.

Yes, it matters if the games are complete. In fact, FYE is notoriously picky about taking in games that have scratches or aren't in the original case. The game has to basically look brand new. That's not a problem if you've taken care of your games though.

I would perfer half.com or amazon.com also, you lose less that way, and no haggling.
Ebay can ok though, really depends on the game, some games there just too many being sold and sell for nothing on ebay.
Definitely try to wait for a get extra $$$ deal from a store if you trade in for credit.

The game stores rip you off. On eBay you run the risk of bidders screwing with you and not paying, leaving stupid negative feedback, dealing with auction fees, etc. Basically it depends on how patient you are and how much you trust random people.

True, true. Right about everything, including the net makes you stupid. But, what if you were already stupid before you got online?

It really depends on the game . . . trade-in at EB or GS can be a good avenue (mostly if there is a special on). Sometimes getting a quick $10 for a low-value, low-interest game is a good path.

Trading here is an excellent idea if you have can match games of similar value . . . it can be tough. I traded GTA SA for Oddworld Stranger last week (gonna get the Xbox version anyway) . . . what would I get for GTASA these days?

Ebay works well if you know how to work it . . . but occasionally you get screwed. If something is hot, then ebay works best. For high-value items, you can't beat it.

I should try half.com

BTW, what do you have for TRADE?

It really does depend on the game. If they are desirable titles, ebay is best because idiots on there will get in a bidding war for them. If they are not, CAG is best because you'll get a reasonable amount or a decent trade. I never consider game stores unless there is a trade X number of games to preorder one that I want. I don't even consider these trades unless I gave $5 or less each for the ones I'm trading in.

Thanks for all the reply's. I think I'll try to sell or trade them here and see what happens. Right now though I'm away from home and I can't remember all of them so I'll post them here to see what you guys think when I get a chance.

Check the completed auctions on ebay for your games, that will tell you what you will probably get for them there, I usually look at an averge price-range. Be aware the selling on ebay is a pain-in-butt much of the time, and eBay fees are VERY high. Most of the time it seems the only eBay is making money.

Trade-in is good only on low-value games, with extra credit like "3 tades plus $10" that GameStop has going right now. It is also easy and fast. You don't need to trade for games right away, but get a credit that you can use any time.
