Sensor bar cable?

JOELPATRICK

CAGiversary!
I've been searching for a while and can't really find any solid info on this. I noticed that the sensor bar cable is only 10 feet long but I'm using a projector and all of my consoles are about 15 feet from the screen. So my question is whether there will be an extension cable for launch?

Amazon has the Pelican one listed for $7.99, but they just recently changed the release date from Nov. 19 to Mar. 30, 2007. I'm gonna say there won't be any ready for launch...

Yeah, 3rd party companies are already working on extension cords, I'd imagine they would have one out at launch... but who knows.

why not just get a long component extension cable instead. since your just gonna run the projector from 15 feet from the wall or screen. then the Wii unit and sensor bar will just right below the screen/wall.

This is probably what I'm going to do until an extension or a wireless sensor bar comes out. With the way my set up is, there is nothing under my screen(such as consoles or shelves) and I would rather there not be. My surround sound headunit and all of my consoles/tivo/dvd player are actually behind my couch on shelving. This provides a cleaner look overall and with older systems that have wired controllers it makes more sense to have the systems right next to the couch because you wouldn't want to be a only few feet away from an 80 inch screen. The couch is about 10 feet away. Ever since I've had the projector its always been an issue as to where put all my crap, but the size of the screen has always made up for the beginning frustrations. So I guess thats it. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for an extension on launch, but prepare to run to radioshack or something for a component extension cable and have that set up temporarily. I just hate the fact that the Wii will have to be separated from my current organization. There is not chance of me changing my set up due to the amount of things I have hooked up. Thanks for everyones input and information.

i used to have the same problem also when i got a projector last year. my set-up was turned upside down. everything has to move and i thought wires would be a problem but i was wrong. it's almost like redecorating, and managed to have more outlets and extensions all over the place.

I have the same one. Any problems yet? I've had mine for about a year and it's been perfect.

Here's a link to my house. I think I will be playin' the Wii on my small screen at first. Hopefully they come out with that wireless sensor bar.

Nice setup Bigsauce. I run an panasonic AE900U myself and use my wall as a screen. It works remarkably well. I'm about to install a permanent remote controlled drop down screen in a few weeks however.

I actually did about a year ago. I started getting a yellow fade on the very right side of the screen and projector itself was making a grinding noise(I think it was the color wheel). Lucky I had an extended warranty. Sent off for about 3 weeks and good ever since. Can't beat it for the money. I got the refurbished one off ebay almost 2 years ago. It was direct from Infocus and came with an Infocus pull down screen for $750 +free shipping. Can't beat that for the size of the screen and EDTV atleast. If it does break, I can get another one and still would of only spent $1500, which is still cheaper than most worthwhile big screens. I want to get an HD projector in the next coming years. I don't think I'll ever go back to a regular TV because I'm too spoiled playing on such a big screen.
