Yeah, I was a *huge* GameCube supporter. I thought it was honestly the best last gen home console. I had extraordinarily high hopes for the Wii which have been completely crushed, then burned, the ashes raked then scattered over a field of clover which was then carpet bombed.
Pretty much what I see is a co-dependent fanbase that at its worst was demanding everyone support last-gen ports because they were M-rated in the hopes of avoiding the "kiddy" branding that Nintendo carries like a scarlet letter, and which can muster the strength to juice 7 pages out of a thread on Carnival Games months later.
I come around here from time to time to see if there's anything really interesting that I may be missing since I'm not that up on industry news any more. I'm not getting any jollydwarf-style pleasure out of my notably infrequent appearances around here, believe me.
Sorry for leaving you guys behind and sorry for wasting your time or worse -- being just another sign post along the way that says the Wii isn't really where you want to be if you're a serious gamer this gen.
I'll just browse IGN for Nintendo news from now on and leave y'all to your chit chat about Dewy's Adventure.
While I pretty much agree with your assessment, having only touched the Wii for Zelda, Metroid and a few overpriced VC games, I think you're writing it off to soon.
Pretty much every console the past 2 or 3 generations has sucked balls the first year it was out. So I don't really bash the Wii, as much as I kick myself for being an idiot and buying yet another console at launch to mostly gather dust for a year.
Definitely will wait for the first price drop every generation from here on out.
