Serious Sam - system link issues

Has anyone tried to link the Xbox version of Serious Sam? A buddy and I were having issues with the game this weekend. It kept saying "host is busy" or "no system link game found". Then I got a "dirty disc error".

I think it's the wrong forum, but I have tried Serious Sam System Link. It is common problem unfortunately, me and my buddy both had brand new copies and even when we got connected it would disconnect him constantly. I think it's a bug.
