Sestak beats Specter for PA-D Senate primary

Not true, at all. No one knew who Sestak was and Specter was consistently ahead in the polls, usually by double digit leads. Only recently (like, past 2-3 months) when Sestak began his v ads, did it come a lot closer.

Sestak used Philly Mayor Nutter's campaign team to do it. Their strat was even though they had little $, they would save it till the end and flood the airwaves.

Not much of a surprise. Primaries always have voting bases further left or right than general elections since independents stay home (or can't vote in some states primaries etc.).

So it will always be tough for anyone that switched parties to win the new party primary.
A very well done campaign that maximized all of the incumbent's weaknesses. Even Obama couldn't save Specter.
Has Obama saved anyone? I can't recall his endorsement really being such a great thing since his election as president.
First Corzine, then Coakly and now Specter all foundered.

Though I do recall his supporting that douchebag Lieberman when he ran as an independent.

Sestak is a racist scum and is no Democrat, otherwise he would've dropped out when told by President Obama. Not only did he not drop out, he told the press that Obama administration offered to give him the Sec. of Navy job if he complied with their wishes. This will just create more problems for Obama as he has to deal with this slanderous accusation. And don't forget Sestak was a 3 star admiral who got demoted to 2 star when he got fired for poor performance.

I didn't even bother to vote for either yesterday and I was a poll worker. But I did vote for one office, though the incumbent there lost too.

It sucks too, since he is anti-landfill and there's two of those stinkpiles in this area.

I would be interested in knowing what kind of backroom deals Obama's Administration tired to make with Sestak to get him to drop out of the race.

Isn't this the kind of stuff Obama was supposed to be against?

He didn't jump in all the way for Specter, which kind of surprised me. I sort of expected that to be a part of the deal that brought Specter's vote to the Dems.

True about Corzine and Coakley. Then again, those were all pathetic fuckers. Then again, a strong president could have probably pulled 1 or 2 through. Then again, it was probably best for America that he didn't.

Me too. I'm willing to bet a snorkel that it was Rahmbo who called Sestak and tried to get him to drop out.

Stupidity, in my opinion. First, for Sestak to even mention it (because now Obama admin. is gonna get shit for it) and second because that was all people focused on in the PA race for a while.

Besides, Sestak is the stronger candidate. Not only does he poll better against Toomey, but, imo, Specter would have galvanized Republicans in the general. They hate him so much at this point that even if they were too lazy to go vote, the chance to boot out a guy they call 'benedict arlen' and 'specter the snake' would have been too awesome to pass up.

Oh well, the admiral sunk the specter. GG.

On one hand, I think it's a slap in the face to the idea that Obama was going to put an end to backroom deals and crap.

On the other hand, I do have to admit that I'm a little impressed to see the details are actually coming out - willingly.
