I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I think every Sega Nerd knew it would eventually happen - Shenmue Online has been cancelled, and the entire series looks like it may get a permanent spot on the shelf next to franchises like Alex Kidd and Flicky that will more than likely never see another sequel.

I'm not really into online gaming, but I still would like to see the Shenmue story be finished in some videogame form!

I don't know how many feel this way, but I feel that Sega has an OBLIGATION to finish the story, in some form (and in a form better than a few line press release. Sega asked you to buy the games. Sega asked you to follow the story (while they are making money on it). Many followed along, willing to put up with the cliff hanger ending while they wait.

Those fans that did held up their end of the deal. It isn't their fault that Sega didn't sell more. I'm not saying they have to release a full game or a movie. Send out a 50 page book that finishes the story. But, don't leave us hanging. We deserve a proper ending.

I don't care about Shenmue Online, I assumed it was canceled already.

I just want Shenmue III, and if we can't finish the story in video game form, I'd like them to release a book or something so we can read the damn ending to the trilogy.
