I sold two smartphones on ebay. One for $240 and the other for $275, before fees.

I've shipped a lot of items, but nothing really as expensive as these two smartphones. I've only done deals like this in person via craigslist.

So on ebay items what do most CAGs do when it comes to shipment and insurance?

I saw the sticky thread, but I want to know more about any experiences with insurance. Online ebay offers ShipCover and USPS insurance. The Shipcover is cheaper, is it worse?

Ship it by USPS Priority Mail.
Reason: The less time it stays in transit the better.

Get Signature Confirmation.
Reason: You need it for Paypal on transactions over $250 to protect yourself.

The Shipcover is more easy to file a claim cause you can do it right within the auction's order details page. But when it comes to the part where they actually cover you I have no idea cause I never had a lost or damaged package yet.

Just don't cheap out on packaging, ask the postal clerk to scan your package and give you a receipt.
Signature confirmation is basically delivery confirmation with a signature required upon delivery.
But will it get the tracking info that DC gets?
