Should I buy a PSP 2000?

Hey guys, I want to know if buying a PSP 2000 would be a smart choice considering the recent pricing of UMDs, accesories, etc...as well as the PSP itself. I know the vita came out (I want one so badly...argh...) but the games for the PSP are cheaper, thus I can get more of them. I could also just hold off of getting a vita/games until I get more money (Have 100's of dollars placed out on some other stuff that I need to be payed back for someday...which won't happen any time soon). There is also a lot of deals for the PS Vitas (20/50 bucks back/off) so I don't know if I could get one with the same/a similar deal around X-mas time or a little bit after, when I would have the money for it (& the games).

What are your thoughts, CAGs?

You could probably find some good deals for a psp and definetly buy alot of UMD's for cheap. I've got a PSP 3000 and a copy of God of War Ghost of Sparta I've been looking to sell. You interested?

Yeah, that's what I mean...so many deals for it right now.
As for the PSP 3000, isn't there some weird brightness difference? I'm not very informed on that--& as for the God of War series games...never really interested in them; to each his own, you know?

if you get a psp, i would recommend buying many of your games digitally. Therefore, when you get a vita, you can just transfer your games over :)

Yeah, that's true; but they can be greatly overpriced, not to mention that I do not like digital downloading much at all ('less its free). I like to have a physical copy of any game I would own. I could even sell the game(s) back to someone that way, if I end up not liking them, & then I can buy some new ones & support the game industry (& my collection!). I DO have the two free PSP game downloads left from the "Welcome Back" event/service, so that would get me some free stuff at the get-go for either systems. I also have gotten the free games for the PS Vita off the PSN, so that would be four games I could start off with if I got a PS Vita, which makes it sound even more appealing (& add the sexy HD screen & casing, & you've got me drooling over it). The question I was originally asking should have been more like:

"Should I get a PSP & a bunch of UMDS for the older games, & get a PS Vita for the newer ones (which could perhaps balance out the cost/fees of digital downloads of the older generation games)?".

Not all PSP games are on the PS Vita either, & what if I want to get JP stuff? The PS Vita only supports a single PSN account at a time, & then you have to think about the expensive memory cards; I honestly don't know what to think about the situation.
