Should I get a Hight School Graduation ring? I don't think I want one, but I sort of do. Did any of you regret not getting one? And if I dont get one now, can I just get one later on in life, if I still want it?

If you think you'll wear it then go ahead, I personally think they are kind of lame and overpriced.

Nope. I didn't get one, and it's the best $300 I've ever saved. Unless you've got rediculous pride in your school, don't buy into the hype. It's something you'll wear until graduation, and then NEVER AGAIN. Save the cash.

I dont no if I am going to wear it. Ive never owned a ring before(other than the 25 cent ones). They are overpriced though.

I dont have any school pride.

Dude, this is CAG. Don't you dare spend that kind of money on something whose sole purpose is to remind you of a time that you'll forget the moment you are out of it's context. Save that money for something that matters: college.

They arent all that expensive. I could get a $70 Celestrium ring. It has a lifetime warranty. The next one above that is $145.

never got one and saved 500 bucks. they are just another thing for the graduation company to make money on. and if you never wore jewelry you will never wear this. what high school you went to only matters when you are old. I bought a whole bunch of stuff for graduation and the only thing I used or still have is the yearbook that is the best thing to buy. purchase 2 of them one to put up in comic book plastic and another to have around and out. Way better then a ring I think.

School pride is for Jocks...people that need to "fit in" to be liked...if you have to be like everyone else to feel liked and your so insecure that it helps you...then by all means buy one...after that you can go to AE and spen 150 on a shirt and pants and maybe if the socks are half off you could get a pair...you know...to top it off...

Same here. I was happy with my yearbook.

Just because you have pride in your school does not mean you are a jock.

and do not get a class ring. Waste of money

High School doesnt matter. College matters more.

I never got a ring and I never gave it a second thought until you brought it up.
Im not walking.
I do recommend marching though I think that is the best thing you can do and it is free. I felt great at mine. the only comparsion I can think of is like being on trail and the jury being out for 14 years and finally saying not gulity. the best felling in the world when they call your name and get that damned diploma that "so hard to get, the thing you need to be active in this society"

Been out about 12 years, and I quit wearing it about a year or so out. But, I do not regret it, actually, it's on my desk hutch right now.

Now here comes the advice part, and where I sound lame. I was told those were some of the best days of my life, those people were full of crap and a bunch of dumbasses. Funny, they got smarter the older I got.

Enjoy it. And get your ring.

I think High School will be the shittiest time in my life...dealing with shitty people...having to deal with violence and loud annoying people...I just hate it...I go to high school only so I can get out of it...
Walking is not free...you have to pay for the gown and pay for invites...its like 100+ dollars
Eh, I wouldn't have walked, either.

Not my thing.

That's true about the cap & gown thing but invites? Pshh, screw that. Just make a thread here about it and e-mail the link to all your friends/relatives. :D

I didn't get one. I graduated last year and don't regret ONE bit not getting a ring...it's not like I'd ever really wear it that much anyway...

Is American Eagle really seen as being that expensive? I get some clothes there and it really isn't that expensive. Now Abercrombie & Fitch, they are expensive. Their clothes are like fucken $100 for some tore up jeans.

On the ring thing, don't do it. Seems more of a way for chicks to get their parents to buy them some jewelry. I agree with everyone who said just go with a yearbook. Its all you really need as memorabilia from high school (that you would need to buy that is). I'm going into my second year of college and don't regret passing on the ring. You'll be too busy changing your major and deciding what to do with life.

no he embellished it etremely. I have gotten pants for 10 from AE, and a jacket for like 30 bucks. AF is expensive, but their pants and shorts are quality.

I say no. I don't believe in any class rings, least of all highschool College I can understand, but often people get rings because they went to a good college and want to flaunt it.

You should walk however.

I would recommend getting the cheapest ring if you have any desire to get one. Thats what I did and I only really wore it a few times. Who knows you might regret it later in life if you have some kind of fond memories of high school and wish you had the ring. They are in no way worth paying $300 for, since you will most likely wear it the day you get it, maybe graduation and then probably never again. So basically I would say get the cheap one just to avoid ever regretting not getting one, but overall they're really not worth it, just try to minimize the fleecing that the ring company is doing to you by selling an overpriced ring.

I had a blast in high school. However, I didn't get a class ring and don't regret it. Get a camera and take pictures instead. Worth a heck of a lot more than a ring if you ask me.

If you have no school pride there's not much of a point. It's a reminder of your high school days. Most people who did get them, we were hella involved in school ie: sports that actually won championships etc

You'll have another chance with college rings, and again it's all about how much you want to remember college. I personally loved it and the frat that I was in so I got one along with a display. I won't really wear it unless I get an interview by a dsp alumni, but hey, it's good memories.

I got one, but my parents paid for it. I don't wear now but I do like having it. When I go out some place fancy I like to wear it. I feel like it shows that I know were I come from and remember my exeriences as I grew up.

The funny thing is that given the chance to get a college ring, I passed. My degree is enough of a reminder of my college.

If you're a loser and you feel graduating high school will be the highest point in your life before working at McDonalds for 30 years then get it.....if there is better things on the horizon.....I advise against it.

i didn't buy a ring, i didn't go to prom, and i have never regretted it.

but to the people (or person) who said they don't intend to get pictures or walk, it would probably be best to go to the graduation ceremony and get your graduation picture. not for yourself, but for your parents. they spent a crapload of money on you to get you to that point, the least you can do is give them an hour or so that they can be proud and say "that's my boy". unless your parents don't care, but i doubt that.

mine was 323. Is pretty nice. I wouldnt have payed that much but when my parents said pick one well thats what i did. Very Rarely leaves my drawer. Get a cheap one.

I dont know if my mom cares...I think shell be happy if I graduate...I mis-spoke myself I mean A&F not AE...If my mom insists I will go to get a damn picture...but I dont see the point of walking on a stage to get something and paying for the gown and shit just to be able to say f* you and leave

I have to decide about this.

If my football team wins the championship, then i get to buy a ring for that, and probably won't want a class ring.

But if we don't win the championship this year, i might get a class ring.

I do have a lot of pride in my school, and I think I am going to be proud of my accomplishments in high school. It seems like a class ring would be something I should get.

I guess I'm even more messed up. I thought he was talking about Armani Exchange... and I was thinking that 150 dollars for a nice shirt and pants would be pushing it.

it isn't worth it. worst $300 ever spent, cause i don't even wear it. i should have spent that on games since i didn't have a g/f at the time.
Nope. I bought one. I lost it.
My friend was at a strip club for a bachelor party and when he woke up in the morning his class ring was gone. His step-brother later told him that he ran out of money and gave his ring to a stripper for a lap dance.

Back on topic, I didn't buy one and don't regret it one bit.
