He is the governor of Virginia, and unfortunately he can only serve one term.

He is a moderate, and he has avoided politics to do the right thing and help the people of Virginia, fixing roads, improving education, and even getting us a budget surplus.

He would make an awesome president.

He's actually from my hometown and I kinda like the guy. Though I don't know for those that want to avoid a president deeply involved in big business I'm not sure he'd be it, as he made a bundle off a loosely regulated telecommunications industry. Otherwise I'd say he's a decent canidate, but personally if I was shooting for a fairly moderate democrat to be president I'd choose Evan Byah who comes in with more experience. I think Warner may also make a good add-on for VP on someone's ticket, given his inexperience I'd say that's more likely.

I wanted Ventura to run for Prez. He was really good. He got Minnesota in the black and always said what he thought. The media did nothing but bust his balls though, so he just went into hiding after leaving office.

While he did an alright job with the budget in office, the tax rebate totally screwed our budget after he left.

I don't think it did as much damage as being the most giving welfare state in the country...

He's a huge liar and has been a terrible governor. I'm sure Quackzilla would like all Virginians to forget about his sales tax increase. He said the state needed to raise the sales tax to stay solvent, the gutless Republican legislature approved it, and then the next thing you know Warner is saying oh, wait, we have a surplus after all. Spineless imps all of them. Thank God for our one-term law. Oh, and of course there is the road situation, where he wanted to make localities pay for road improvements after taking money from the transportation fund to pay for other things. Of course Northern Virginia, where I live, pays far more into state coffers for transportation than we get back (and we have the worst traffic in the state), but oh, look, we should raise sales taxes to build more roads because Warner's raiding the transportation fund. fuck Warner and fuck the idiot Republicans and Democrats in the state legislature for their idiotic policies. Too bad we couldn't have someone in the mold of George Allen as governor.

Sorry for the tirade, but VA politics has turned to shit since Gilmore and then Warner became governor.
