Hey everyone, was messing around buying a few things on Amazon and a poster noted that Silverhawks Season 1 Volume 2 (the rest of the series) had been releases on WB Shop as a Made to Order exclusive.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if you were interested. In fact it was just released yesterday, 10/4/11.

Silverhawks Season 1 Vol. 2

Price of $39.99 (plus Shipping and Tax, came out to around $45 for me)

Also for those interested as well Amazon is selling the first Volume of the series for $10 new right now, in case you needed that one as well.

Can't wait to finally watch the rest of the show (want to see the time traveller eps. again, haven't seen it in over 20 years).

Edit: Per the guy on Amazon who posted the information:

"Clean DVD transfer. Had to wait three years for volume 2.

Finish the collection. Releasing on a "made to order" basis is Silverhawks: Volume 2. 10/4/2011. $39.95."

I hope this gets a wider release, would love to pick it up, but $40 is a bit steep, considering what other shows from the era run. I did see Silverhawks S1V1 on sale for $10 yesterday and picked that up - great deal.

As I posted with it being a made to order, that means (to me anyway) is that WB has no confidence in the product to release the rest of it (in a wide release) and loose money on it (otherwise it wouldn't be on clearance at Amazon right now for $10 for Vol 1) so honestly look at it like getting both sets for $55 ($27.50 a piece), while not a great deal, it's better than not having it at all, which is why I posted it for those who might be interested and didn't know that it was out/coming out. ;)

Pirates of Dark Water was a WB exclusive, made to order initially too I believe but it's now on Amazon so it's possible this could be the same.

Amazon has quite a few of the WB made-to-order dvds on their site. Pirates of Dark Water and Flight of Dragons are among them, but they're the same thing you'll get from WB.

In fact, the note on Amazon is:

DVD-R Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com
I was impressed with the quality of Pirates nonetheless.

It's nice to see these old shows get released in some format. Hopefully WB has a sale or lowers the price to make it a better deal.

Thanks for the clarification, (since it seems to be exactly the same, only difference being Amazon gives WB Direct the order details and they ship it out)

Not sure if Pirates of Dark Water has ever been put on sale, so Silverhawks might be discounted later, or not since of its made to order status.

Anyway as I said I just wanted to get the information out there to fans who wanted to complete their sets of the show.

Damn. I used to love this show. I must have seen the origin episode twenty times.

I know everyone remembers Thundercats fondly, but I liked Silverhawks more than Thundercats. (That sounds so ridiculous when I read it out loud)
It's now showing up for pre-order on Amazon but for the ridiculous price of $49.99:

Expect it to drop like a rock like the first volume
Just in case you weren't paying attention...;)

DVD-R Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com.

Its not going into full production (nor probably will it, notice no release date either) and it still ships from WBshop.com through Amazon.

I finished watching my set this past week and was pleased except my DVD player had some hiccups with the DVD-R's glitching and such during playback (which I was none to thrilled about) I was tempted to send them back for a replacement, but am not going to bother since I don't have time to re-watch them another time when the new set would get here anyway, they were watchable and enjoyable enough as-is.

I'll still recommend it for those who are interested (and want a complete collection) and don't mind $40 (plus shipping) from WBshop.com (and can accept the issues I've detailed). But I wouldn't hold my breath too long waiting for a full on production release of Vol. 2, since it looks like Vol. 1 didn't sell hot enough for them to even bother with doing much to get the rest of the set out of the door.

Actually I'm simply pointing out that it's on Amazon now contrary to what the original post and title states. You said it's a wbshop exclusive, I'm giving the heads-up that it isn't anymore. I and others have already pointed out that other made to order WB DVD sets have shown up on amazon and some hawe dropped in price considerably since they've been released. Unless I'm mistaken, Silverhawks Vol 1 shows an original price of $44.98 and now it's $13.99. I'm merely speculating that a similar fate will happen to Vol 2 eventually. If I'm wrong about that so be it, but I won't bite at the current prices.

And where does it say it's still shipped by WBshop.com? It says specifically on that page:

Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.
It doesn't even appear to be WB making these to order for Amazon. Amazon may have gotten digital rights to distribute and make them from WB, but it's Amazon's own company CreateSpace that appears to be printing these out to order.

Amazon has just dropped the price of this to $30.49. Volume 1 is also down to $12.60 (3rd party seller/fulfilled by amazon)

Vol 1
Vol 2

That's ~$10 down from WBshop's price in just about a month's time ;)
