Simcity Limited Edition at best buy for 59.99 with free $20 GC with Raptr

Can you explain how to get the promo code from raptr?

edit: this seems to be the requirements

but yeah, Amazon has the same offer and no tax (for most).

Well the one thing about the price change policy at BBY is this "The company also announced that if it lowers the price of an item within 15 days of a consumer purchase, the buyer will be able to return and get a refund to match the lower price."

I doubt that would ever happen, but who knows?

This. I don't know what RAPTR is, but if I was in the market for this game, I would just do it through Amazon and skip the shady 3rd party rewards service.

Just because you haven't heard of something doesn't mean it's shady. Raptr is a legit service.

Yeah, Raptr is a multi-platform games tracker and it's legit. It's actually kind of cool too (I like stats). They do rewards on a regular basis, in partnership with publishers and retailers.

Having said that... I think the choice of games they picked to track for eligibility is horrible. A handful of social games and SimCity 4 (all that Steam carries). They should at least include similar games like Tropico or Cities XL. I've got SimCity 4 - but not on Steam, so I'm screwed unless I want to play those dumb social games.

Edit: found out how to add non-Steam games for tracking... very simple. Nice!

So I have 23 hours played on Civ5 in Steam, as well as 27 achievements, but this stupid Raptr app says I have 0 hours and no achievements and won't let me get the deal. Anyone else have this issue? Seems to be a scam.

Oh geeze people how it is a scam? Are they taking money from you? Give me a break.

Raptr is completely legitimate and I've gotten a number of free games from their promotions.

Now sometimes for various reasons it doesn't track your hours and achievements properly. If that's the case try going to http://raptr.com/account/identities and then select

Update Steam achievements now and Sync Steam hours with Raptr

Note that sometimes this process can take a few hours. If that still doesn't work then contact their support or post on the forums. They are pretty good about getting back to people.

Got mine... just linked my SimCity 4 Deluxe to Raptr and turned it on for a couple minutes.

I redeemed an unused BB gift card, a BB reward certificate, and walked away with a new $20 BB gift card and SimCity for $8... not bad. :)

yea i just wanted to come in and also say i've been using raptr for years and the rewards stuff is legit. As of late i got the assassins creed avatar stuff for free. It is a nice offer but i agree just go with the amazon offer but nice for those how have an account already.

I figured that anyone that's been around gaming, websites based on gaming, and forums based on gaming at some point or another heard of raptr, use it, or at least seen signatures of people that have their stats. Guess I would have lost that bet.

Anyway, already had my amazon order locked in, but a good deal for anyone that hasn't.

im doing this offer as i intend to use the GC and the 20 cert from dead space 3 pre-order to get gears judgement for $20 + $20 reward cert.

They way im seein it, gonna be 70 for the 2 games out of pocket

Huh? this means that the pm policy is no 15 days. But you will lose any bonus reward certs if you do this. Is the return period shortened to 15 days, even before the invention of price match you could return and rebuy.
My tip to you is if you buy anything at bestbuy, and it's lower somewhere else, return it to bestbuy and buy it where ever it's cheaper. I know you have to drive but that is why you determine if it's worth it.

SimCity download version is currently $39.99 at Amazon. I want it but will probably wait for patches.
