Hey guys! i'm spreading the word anywhere i can so sorry if you read this everywhere- but i just came on this a little bit ago, and since i'm going to the show, and i love anime and games and cosplay- i figured i'd spread the love! if this is in the wrong form- i apologise.

The "Dear Friends - music from FINAL FANTASY" concert was originally conceived as a one-time event in Los Angeles, CA on May 10, 2004. The concert sold-out in 3 days and had an overwhelmingly positive reception. After the show, many fans pleaded for another chance to see the concert and thus the concert series was born.

After a successful nationwide tour in 2005, the Dear Friends concert series will be coming to a close. The remaining shows will be performed July 14 in San Diego, California during the Comic-Con International show and July 23-24 in Detroit, Michigan at the Fisher Theater in Detroit!!

Detroit is the LAST STOP on the concert tour! To commemorate the event, and cause the Detroit Symphony is good like this they're doing a couple of contests! And they're both pretty easy!!

1) THE COSTUME CONTEST! The winner, each night, gets a Nobuo Uematsu Signed Poster and the adoration of all! This should be good encouragement for us all to dress up, as opposed to deressing appropriately! ^-^

2) If you visit the DSO Final Fantasy Website at finalfantasydso.com
you can enter for a chance to win free tickets!

Again the concert is on the 23rd and 24th so you gotta hustle! Lets all get out there and support anime and game music and the DSO! a Big Woot for them trying to get stuff aimed at us!

I will actually be trudging over to d-town next weekend to check this out

Are there any afterparties or anything going on after the saturday night show, my friends and I will be looking for a decent watering hole and none of us know the area?

i have to decide if i'm going to attend this or not. i'm assuming tickets are still available, since i can't imagine something like that selling out in detroit.

it's detroit, so there isn't really anywhere to go.

As someone who went to the concert when it was in Hartford, Connecticut, I can savely say you're gonna have a great time if you go. Souveniers are a bit pricy, but worth it too.

Thanks for posting about this. I just got an e-mail saying I won a pair of tickets to the show! :bouncy: :applause: So it looks like I'll be heading up to Detroit this weekend. Woo-hoo!

Anyone who is on the fence about going should act quickly. Apparently the Saturday show is sold out and the Sunday show is going fast.

Saturday isn't sold out yet, however there are no longer seats available on the main floor (or for Sunday for that matter).

Also, for those still trying to decide. That unless Minneapolis gets another try at it here within the next month (which is possible) These Detroit shows will be the last performances of the concert tour, and could very well be your last chances to ever see this show.

Sunday can't come soon enough!!!
