Hey guys, I need some help here. I bought a copy of the recent Nocturne reprint from Play-Asia back in June, but because of my busy schedule I only had a chance to try it end of July. Unfortunately, the game failed to load on both my 80 GB PS3, and fat PS2. I complained to Play-Asia, sent it back to them for an exchange, only to get the response that it works fine for them and they're sending it back to me. What's the deal with this? I find it hard to believe it's my systems when every other game plays fine. Anyone else have this issue? Any way to resolve it?

A number of the reprints didn't work for some reason. The odd thing was that there were different symptoms that included freezing and excessive load times. PlayAsia has got to know about the issue - I know Amazon did and they did a terrific job on replacing the game.

My reprint copy seems to work on my fat PS2, but I haven't gotten very far into the game. So far no problems though. I bought mine from Gamestop. So I think it's safe to say that your copy is defective. I'd call them on it.

I did call them on it. Turns out that they're jerks and aren't giving me a better copy. Of course, I lucked out and bought the game from the one company that doesn't give a crap.
On that note, anyone want to buy a copy of this game that may or may not work? ANYONE?

You can try to boot it up on other PS2. Maybe its your PS3 and PS2 that's having a problem.

edit>Oh and most retail stores won't replace even defective item which were sold months ago. And 90 day warranty limit is already past. Is the risk you take if you keep your game sealed up without trying it out.

Yeah, it's clearly my systems' fault, playing every other game perfectly except this one...
And when I got the game (June), and tested it (July), by the time I sent it away for testing (August), it was clearly within the 90 day period. Plus, it's not a retail store in the typical sense, like Gamestop.
I've basically been preached to about everything I already knew.
Maybe try contacting Atlus. Worth a shot no?
That's probably your best bet. I've had decent luck with PA's customer service in the past but at this point it sounds like they're done with you.

Yeah, I guess I'll do that. There's always the chance I could sell it to someone, as APPARENTLY it works, but not for me.
PA customer service is ridiculous though. I dealt with the same person the entire time, and it was basically like talking to an automated response system.

Tell them "I'm a detective from Hong Kong. Do you understand the words coming out from my mouth?"

Mine didn't work on my PS2 either. I got mine from Amazon though. Upon examination of the disc there was all this white dust/residue. After removing that stuff, it worked fine on my PS2 and PS3.
