SMT: Persona (PSP) $19.99 NEW/ $17.99 USED at Gamestop

I got introduced to the series with P3 an awesome game on the PS2. I tried this game and I just couldn't get into it although screwing with the demons during a battle was a lot of fun. :)
Been this price for quite awhile, if I'm remembering right.
Sorry about that. I haven't been to a GS in a while and saw the $19.99 price tag and it caught my eye.

Amazon still sells it for $35 (although the Marketplace is selling it for much less) so it might be a deal for some CAGs with GS credit burning in his or her pocket.

Thanks op, picked up the last copy in the store in Calexico, CA. It was the special edition with the 2-CD soundtrack, so i'm a happy camper.

I'm actually playing through this game right now and finding it difficult to keep going due to boredom. This is also my first Persona game so I don't have rose-colored glasses to look through. I plan to play the games in sequential order so I really hope the games get better.

There is no reason to play them in order. The only ones with major connections are P2: Innocent Sin and P2: Eternal Punishment. It's pretty much like Final Fantasy, every game stands on its own. P3 and P4 are the best by far.

Don't worry, Persona is a real tough game to play through. The combat is terrible, the encounters are through the roof amplifying the combat issues, but the story is.. kinda interesting. Series really picks up in Persona 2 by comparison, but Persona 4 and 3 much more enjoyable to play.

Actually, I'm planning to play through the Final Fantasy games in order, too, lol. I guess I'm a bit OCD :). I'm glad to hear the games get better, though, but I just have one question: do they still have those one-hit kill spells from random enemies (might be called Mudo or Mudoon or something)? That shit is fucking annoying and whichever programmer thought that was fun must be brain damaged.

Looks like it's in stock online used, but be forewarned, almost all PSP games from GS.com have the replaced UMD shells. I don't think I've even received one that hasn't been replaced since the guarantee was thrown out the window for the handhelds.

You mean they replace the shell that holds the actual optical disc inside? Or you mean the game case where you put away the booklet and the game?

I think he means the actual plastic shell that holds the UMD disc. I have seen the same. It's just like with most used product from GS.com - it is refurbished. I'd definitely buy new on this one. Of course I preordered this when it first came out and have yet to open it. That's why I didn't preorder P3 PSP. I just need that to come down to $19.99 now!

I don't understand; what's so bad about the replacement shells for UMDs?

They used different shells that are clear. I guess that might be a problem to some.

Persona's been this price for at least almost 2 B2G1s ago already :p.

Plus the fact that they feel cheap and if you are at all concerned about getting stuff complete and in good condition that is like a slap in the face.

It goes without saying that if they come with replacement shells they also probably come in those crappy generic Gamestop cases (the cheap black ones that crumble apart and leave coffee ground like stuff all over the place) and have no cover art or manual.

Alright. I get it.

I searched the deals forums for a post and didn't find one so here it is. Other CAGs didn't know of the price drop and they benefited from it.
