SNK NeoGeo hitting US PS2s with 4-part combo
HOLY shaq-fuing SHIT! metal slug 4 AND 5 in one glorious pack?! sorry to say cheapy but your no longer my god. that title goes to snk.
before you give them that, lets at least hope they do not censor these.

Metal Slug 4/5 and The King of Fighters 2002/2003 for $40 Each.

Seem like I can't Be Cheap for this collection "WHY" When it RUN out is Very Hard to FIND beside these Packs is all my favorite 2D games ever made ;)

Also, WHERE "SAMURAI SHADOWN ZERO (5) for PS2 release Or Samurai Shadown 1/2/3 and 4/5 Packs for $40 EACH ??

Finally, Metal SLug hit PS2 & Hopefully, Samurai shodown too ;)

maybe 2002 on the Xbox will have online play? I hope so as I would probably buy it for both systems then (2003 has the older style Terry which is cool)

Regarding this announcement: has any other company treated it's fans as well as SNK? Honestly, with all of these double packs, it seems as if they know exactly what their fans want, and they give it to them. I'm still in shock over this news, it's like I keep waiting to wake up or something. KOF 2000-2003 and MS4/5 on PS2, easy to collect, cheap to own. Wow, it truely is a great day to be a gamer.

I think 2004 is the year of the 2D fighter and I personally love it. Xbox and PS2 are getting a ton of love from SNK and CAPCOM (CAPCOM not so much on Xbox although HSSFII is rumored to come out)

This is awesome. I'll be pre-ordering the Metal Slug pack, but what is the difference between the KoF games from year to year? Doesn't seem like much changes at all.

Well I do not know the diffrences between the other games, but the series is supposed to be broken down to 94-98 and 99-now. Most people prefer the older style (no striker I believe)

I have 98 and 99 and the moves and execution of moves is different(some are similar, but some are not). Also the roster is always changing

Roster/moves always drastically changing. In 2003, they abandoned the old system and made it more like Marvel vs Capcom 2. You get 3 people and can tag them in at any time. Also, the NESTS storyline which started in 99 ended in i believe 2001(might''ve been 2002), but I'm sure that 2003 is in a completely new storyline.
finally looks like I need to get a PS2
Ditto. Worth it just for the Metal Slug combo. :D

Still...Metal Slug with XBox Live co-op would be great too. That would require getting an XBox, though...

Usually, I'm fine without owning one of the current consoles. Seeing games like this, though, makes it much harder to resist...

wow thats good news, i used to play all those games back in my arcade days...well earlier versions of em anyway..... but i dont know, $40 is a little steep for me, still might get em though, ill c when they come out.

yea I agree. I only played like 10 minutes of Metal Slug 5 in the arcade the other day and I was hooked.

The first level is like this jungle stage on a boat, then you enter a pyrmaid (not egyptian but central american style) and then you had to fight a tank for a boss
hopefully we get a FF collection. I would love to play the early ones (MOW rules so much)
well there is ::cough mame ::cough:: a way. but i wouldnt ::cough:: very illegal ::cough:: know about that.

yea I will pass on that stuff. I got a Saturn for all the early Kof games and the Fatal Fury/ Real Bout games do not go for all that much (maybe 20 or 40, aside from the collections)

I'm really excited about the KOF 2K2 + 2K3 combo. I got 2K2 for Dreamcast but the PS2 version will have more characters and 3-D Backgronds. Geese and Goenitz are two of the secret characters and they play like they do in SVC Chaos. That means Geese has his cool DM grab.

Haven't played 2K3 but I've read all about it. New main character Ash, French guy with green flames that looks like a girl.

Uh. You REALLY don't want to play the original FF. Trust me, keep Terry in Mark of the Wolves or even Real Bout, but other than that, avoid the older ones at all costs.

Seriously, I think Karate Champ was a better game than those. =)

I know its bad (only three playable characters and such). I was mainly focusing on the Real Bout ones and MOW as I think everyone should play MOW

The first Fatal Fury for Neo Geo did a Tag Team gainst the computer. That was pretty new at the time, maybe alittle ahead of it's time.

I can't see why SNK can't just break down and release a compilation of their arcade games ala Midway's Arcade Treasures. I would see having a collection of 15-20 SNK classics in one package for $40 a better value than perhaps 2 games for $40.

snks arcade games arent that old, at least the ones youre thinking of. they did have many old one that they could, but the current games are too new. although a FF pack with all FF games or a samurai showdown pack would rule.

I like Samurai Shodown alot but chance are pretty small. Hopefully, SNK release it here in US in Spring or late 2005. ;)

Just hope !!
YES! OVERRATED GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love SNK and I like these games but some of you are a little....over-reacting.
That's 'cuz we are excited that the two double packs (well I don't care about the crappy Metal Slug 4+5 pack)are actually being released in the US. SCEA rejected most of these games and would only approve of their release if they were in a double pack or 'compilation' form.

Hmmm.... SCEA rejected mot of SNK games cuz they are All 2D. As for myself i love 2D over 3D game beside most 3D games are really $$uck.

PS2 have over 1500 games but I only owned 7% or 8% of the games already released.

WOW WOW

Finally, Samurai Shodown V hit US PS2 :)

Metal Slug 4 & 5 (PS2)
The King of Fighters 2002 & 2003 (PS2)
Metal Slug Advance (GBA)
Samurai Shodown V or Samurai Shodown V Special (PS2 )

Thanks you SNK PLAYMORE "YOU" make my Wish is COME TRUE but still missing Samurai Shodown Collection from 1-4 :)
They actually made a KOF rpg if I recall anyone ever got to play it?
dont remember a KOF RPG, bu I know there was a Samurai Showdown RPG
