Probably a stupid question but I never thought about it. How does Kotaku (and other video game blog sites) make money? I don't even see any ads on them. Usually most sites are cluttered with ads and shit but most of these game blog sites are really clean and I don't see any ads. What is up? It must be obvious so somebody fill me in. Thanks.

*** Ha, just went back to Kotaku and other gaming blogs without no script. Now I see all the ads. I feel stupid. Please delete this post.

check again, man! Every month or so they re-skin the site to be one big add for something. They also run adds mixed into the news articles a lot.

There is an add in the top right corner, and there are gawker banners everywhere. Gawker is the parent site, but it's still an advertisement. The main site is loaded down with Samsung ads right now.

I'm using no script so I guess those are blocked. I don't see any of that stuff. I guess that answers my question... thanks.

They give journalism lessons, to teach aspiring young reporters to talk out of their ass and spell every fourth word incorrectly.
