So I just beat Folklore

Timeos

CAGiversary!
I just finished Folklore and I really enjoyed it. For $13 at Walmart I really enjoyed it. What I'm posting about is the ending. I'm kinda either confused or still determining what in the world just happened.

Is Keats a fairie form of Herve that Ellen's mom prayed to help Ellen? Similar to Ellen receiving Scarecrow when she prayed for help. What do you think?

I beat it a couple months ago after I got it for Christmas. Here is my take

Keats is the halflive(like the scarecrow) of Herve based on the drawing Cecelia(Ellen) drew of Herve as she though he would look as an adult. Keats is sort of her guardian and there to help her solve the mystery of who she is and whats going on in Doolin and the Netherworld. I don't think he's like the scarecrow. The Scarecrow is there only to give info to Ellen, while Keats is there to actually help her. He doesn't really know he is a halflive of Herve(I don't think he does at least)

Also, it's established somewhere in the game(maybe a side quest) that all humans can see halflives, but are usually scared of them because they look like ghosts which causes the halflives to hide from adults. Keats looks like a normal human which is why he openly interacts with the people of the village with no problems

Alright cool. So you know after you beat the game. I'm guessing you have to start at the last save spot to play the DLC quest huh? Or is there some way of doing it without starting entirely over?

I don't have any of the DLC stuff. All I did was the main story and most of the sidequests available at the pub(day and night)
Ah! Okay. Then I'll work on that part then. So did you enjoy it all in all?
Yeah I did. I liked the look and the combat a lot. The comic book like story telling was interesting, but I think it would have been better with more voice acting throughout the game.

Agreed. It was well worth the time and had new ideas about how people hide from death or why they fear death. It was different, but in a good way.
I was trying to finish it.. but I couldn't take anymore.
I couldn't even get into the game... it was so weird.
