Has it been confirmed yet whether or not Wii Sports will come in an actual Wii game box? I'm worried we'll get it in a cardboard case like we did Mario Kart/Nintendogs/Animal Crossing/Mario 64 with the various DS bundles.

I would guess it comes with a box since I doubt Wii Sports will be a pack in for the entire life of the Wii (kinda like the 360 remote).

As did Mario Party, but the GC bundles were a little different (at least MP was) as it was a normal reatail Gamecube box inside a bigger box along with the game.

I worry that the DS bundles are more the precedent here than the GC ones.

Mario Kart for the DS didn't with its bundle.

I'd hope that Wii Sports would come in an official case. I was kinda pissed when I discovered Mario Kart DS was caseless.
Did Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt come in their own case? I'm trying to remember.
It is possible I am wrong, but I think that Super Mario/Duck Hunt just came in the black sleeve. No box for it.

Super Mario Brothers came with the retail box on my NES(mine didn't have duck hunt), and the Zelda Cube bundle had its own box, also.

Hopefully the Wii is no different.

That's how it came in my NES bundle... black sleeve in a plastic bag, folded and taped!

Anyway, judging from recent 'Cube bundles, I'd imagine Nintendo will pack it in a DVD case shrinkwrapped.

This image was posed by Wii-Brasil and later by tons of other sites last month from an EB ad; I wonder if it's nothing more than a placeholder image provided by Nintendo or if it's a legit sign that a box/art exists?

I think the issue with the DS bundles was the absolute lack of space, they should've been more creative. I think the Wii box will have plenty of space for a full game box.

As Tebunker said..its all about space. Just look at the DS. There is no room to add a full retail boxed DS game inside. With the home console packs, there would be more room to be able to add a retail game. I hope it comes with the retail packaging. Then again, its a CD so it should come in a case to prevent it from being damaged.

The box would be a good ad for the game and system that could be passed around to friends and family... if everyone didn't throw the boxes out. ;)

(I, on the other hand, never throw away any boxes, booklets, inserts, and on and on...)

I think it will come in the box, the reason Mario Kart, Nintendogs didn't come in a box is because it wouldn't fit inside the DS System box. The same goes for the PSP Spiderman UMD, adn ATV Game currently in the PSP entertainment pack. The UMD case wouldn't fit inside the PSP system box also. However the Wii is a actual console system that has more room to put stuff inside, and I am fairly certain it could be possible for them to fit 1 dvd case in there.
Its a disc based game that is more fragile than a cart. It'll come in it's own case.
I don't think the question is whether or not it will ship loose, but will it ship in a full-size Wii gamecase with a cover.

I dunno. They certainly don't have the luxury of size, like with the GC games (the Game Boy Player disc came in a Japaneses-style GC case with a cardboard slip).

It could be all nasty, like Virtua Fighter Remix on the Saturn (cardboard sleeve, and nothing else), or it could be a full DVD case. Hell, it could be a slimcase like OXM demo discs, for all I know.
