Social Media Customer Service

In the past year or so I have recently been finding more people seem to get better and quicker help from customer service when talking to a representative on a Facebook page.

I have found the Facebook customer service reps sometimes have given me way better and more direct service than the direct customer service through the company.

One example is the DeepDiscount's customer service with their Facebook rep has been wayyyyyy better than contacting DD's actual customer service line. I've had a couple issues with my DD order, and the Facebook rep resolved it in a quick and respectable fashion. I was pretty amazed.

Anyone else have experience with social media customer service?

I like to harass Play via Twitter every now and then about not shipping to the US (I want their steelbooks) and they always respond, and it's always hilarious. The person running their Twitter account is fantastic. It's technically customer service since it's their company account, but I'm not a paying customer - they won't allow me to be. Yet.
