I propose we set up a CAG clan for SOCOM 3 since it's being released within a few weeks hopefully :)

I for one plan to pick it up day of release! :D

*sigh* I kinda wish the rank system didn't go haywire and reset my scores and all after the reset... I had gotten an extremely good set of scores and all, got to Captain, and I could have easily stayed there when it reset everything and I just quit :/

Im getting it too, but not alot of people here played the last one, I only remember seeing one other person online more than once. I actually wish there was no rankings, cause its too easy to exploit and there are tons of rank up rooms now.
 
Geez people, I just picked up SOCOM II on sale. You guys are way too ahead of the curve, buying the day it's released...man this site has made me an even cheaper assed gamer. :)

My friend is a beta tester for Socom 3 and I was over at his house playing it for a bit. I'm a n00b at Socom but how in the world can people tell where to shoot? I guess it's the camo of the models, but it's hard for me to differentiate the enemies to shoot from the background.
 
Well SEALS wear camoflauge (usually somewhat colorless as it can only be so vibrant for a PS2 hehe) and the huge maps add some fog to it, and then pretty much anything that moves that doesn't have a white name over their head is prey.

And if we got some more people, and some discipline, we could kick some butt :D
 
I would join but I wasn't happy with the beta...I thought the Battlefield modern combat alpha was a lot better then the socom 3 beta

so basically the same stuff for halo 2 minus the fee for a starter kit? ;) I really would like to get a Socom 3 clan together. I'm prolly gonna get this since it's like 38.88 at Target Oct 9-15th
 
I didnt like the beta for socom 3 either. 1 big reason for this......32 people is just way too fucking much for me. If you get gernaded at the begining, you have to wait forever for all the campers that are ALWAYS left at the end, to get up and do something. This was a probelm with socom 2, but with socom 3, its alot more so IMO. I dont like having to wait minutes between rounds so that i can actually play again.

I don't mind waiting as much as I hate what they did to the way the game plays...big empty maps...shooting physics were off...i loved the first one, and played it to death...didn't enjoy the 2nd one as much
 
just saw the review, after a padded ign score of 90, gamespy gave it a 70...1up gave it a 70 as well but that was just for the single player with online to be reviewed later
 
I just picked up the game today, so I'll be trying it out tonight..

I'm going to be pretty bad at it, but I'd like to join the clan if it skill level doesn't matter. :D
 
I got the game, and am about to beat the first campaign on hard.. (Commander) and I want to get some weapons unlocked before I go on.. (G36C! O_O SR25! WOO) and all... I love it

You need a credit card to verify to be able to join a clan and play ranked. NO CHARGES to it, just for easy verification.

And afterwards, we need a leader...

I'd nominate myself (I have a shitload of free time >_>) but I'm better as a morale booster/Captain [Like..2nd in command or leader of a group :)]

Up to the majority though, but I've played SOCOM since #1 was released, through #2 for over a year, and now S3 =)

I'm looking to get a headset. Is there any difference between the socom headset and the logitech one? Is one better than the other? Where are they the cheapest?
 
I'm keeping the list updated..if the people on it currently get S3 and get online, I'll get a main thread for this...

Other than sturdiness and comfort the headsets work the same. The logitech is much comfier and you are never afraid of it falling apart like the original Socom Headset.

Why did they still leave talking in game assigned to a button press?? I agree it adds to the reality of battlefield communication but c'mon.....HALO 2 is the performance mark now.
 
I'll join too, i picked it up yesterday, I only played for a few hours, but I like it so far. Ive already verified my account and my name is StarTropics. We should try and figure a time and room to get the clan organized. Im all for letting someone else be the leader of the clan this time. Last time there was never more than 2 people on at a time and nobody would accept the invites and if they did they never played.
 
I hate my local Target they still don't have this. I did get a rain check, I might break down and pay the 50 for it

any impressions of the online play? Is the shooting/weapon, aiming more like socom 1 or 2? Was anyone that has it a beta tester? If so, did they make major improvements over the beta version?

I'm more concerned about the hit detection than the aiming. In socom 2 I would see somebody and accidently pull the trigger once and they would drop
 
Even though it supposedly takes less hits to take people down, I think it feels like more..but the guns are more accurately described and used..and it's VERY fun in small games online, no lag, AWESOME hit detection (No 5 foot tracing for lag! even in 32 player rooms!)

Okay guys, I can't find a good name for the clan.

It can only fit 12 characters (CheapAssGamer) so would we use that or would you want something like CheapAssSOCOM instead? I didn't go with CAG because I didn't want anyone to feel cheated or left out.

I gotta say though, even though I have an Xbox the graphics blow for this game. The back of the box had some pretty nice looking screens but when I started my first online game, it looked like I stepped back in time and was playing a PS1 game. Even my bro was watching and he couldnt believe that the graphics were that bad.
 
My only problems about this game is that 32 player battles take too long to finish, the vehicles suck, and the ranking is fucked up. Go back to ELO instead of wins please.
 
I finally got a name for the clan: C.a.G. Elit3

I like it, the tag is CaeG (AE is a symbol)

I can invite people immediately if they friendlist/contact me.

Credit goes to my best friend Eliza for the name ^_^ after such a hassle with the naming. As well as Mr Ryles (desert_penguin) for the Elite idea.
