Solar Freakin' Roadways!

CAGiversary!
I've always wondered, since I was little, why the roadways didn't have electric coils or something built in to warm the road and melt the ice and snow away, or have some lights so you can see the lines on the road when it's dark and rainy out.  I never thought it would come to this, though.

My main concern would be durability during a crash.  And what problems there may be where if it's raining and one of these is damage, what sort of electrocution problems may occur.  But if these are durable and ever become commonplace, that would be awesome.  Especially no more potholes.

I imagine if they become damaged street/highway departments would have a stockpile on hand and easily be able to respond to a damaged panel and replace it rather rapidly.

The first video does a good job of explaining these in an entertaining manner.  The second video/link is for the crowdfunding website.
