I remember that a few people were looking for deals on the Sony MDR-EX51/71 Earbuds a while back. Now buy.com has a few good deals on them and there was a "5% off buy.com" thread on here so that should help some.

I was looking at these earbuds earlier, since the psp ones dont cut it. Anyone one know which ones are the best out of the bunch.
 
they are all the same earbuds, but the 71s are more rubbery around the headphone area which is normally plastic and it has a shorter cord (comes with a 3' extension cable). The 81s just have the little ear thing. I have the 71s and I like them
 
I have the 51s and I'll also say that they're good buds. I went with the 51s over the 71s because the 4 ft cord was long enough for me and I'd rather not bother with the extension cord. But otherwise, as the poster above said, the 51s and 71s are the exact same buds sound wise so just go with whichever cord you'd rather have.

There's also a good review of the 81s on ipodlounge.com and they seem to think that they have better quality sound than the 51s/71s, so you might want to look at them instead if you don't mind the around the ear shape.

Are the 71s more comfortable than the 51s? Also, the chrome on the 71SL looks pretty hot in the pics, do they look as good in real life?
