The title says it all.....buy a psp and it comes out to 179.99 after rebate at FYE.

It totally slipped my mind to ask if it is a mail-in rebate or instant...but i'm fairly certain that it is mail-in.

That's pretty cheap! It seems there are a lot of places to get a psp for cheap these days.....

Just FYI, allegedly the rebate will expire April 26, although with FYE they do tend to re-up these offers. And it is definitely mail in.

PS Just be forewarned that FYE may try to cram games and accessories down your throat. I was told I needed to buy a game or accessory to be allowed to buy the PSP, though that policy seems to vary by store.
 
The rebate might be locked to you buying a game or two, like we though they were doing with the current rebate for the PS2 @ $99 AR.

Just look over it closely before you think you're getting it for $179 AR.

Fye is almost always having a $20 MIR for a system.

FYE has been doing MIR's with Sony systems for months now. They are just trying to lure away some of the business from the EB/GS's and such.
 
I've always had bad luck with mail in rebates from the Wherehouse(FYE), and always have to call them because they'll deny them for a phantom reason, like no receipt sent, no upc, invalid purchase date, but I always call and they always just ask for my name and zip code and just ok it. I think they know the majority of people are going to forget the MIR. Right now the store has the three dvd version of Dune, Swimming with sharks, T2-Special edition and a bunch of other movies for $1.99 or 2.99 or $7.99 after a $5 MIR. I bought Dune cause even at $7.99 its a good deal, and the MIR is icing on the cake. In terms of the UPC asked for, the last two MIR I sent in without the upc, but they were denied for invalid purchase date and nothing mentioned about the missing upc.
 
Damn, I just bought mine from BB two weeks ago for the full $199.99. Of course, I'm really not that upset, since BB has a superior replacement plan, which I purchased. Come to think of it, does FYE even offer a extended warranty type thing?
