Spherex Surround Sound System $299

Yup I confer, it's a nice self-contained system. No need for a separate amplifier, it's all integrated into the base subwoofer unit.

Two optical inputs, one digital coax input and an analog input. It's got a USB connection that could be used for digital input, but I've only used it to upgrade the firmware (yes it's upgradeable). The promised expansion slot hasn't materialized anything yet.

Sound quality is decent. The speakers themselves are nice quality, but the wire supplied is short and cheap. And in order to replace the speaker wire you have to actually cut the wire and splice new in between. But in terms of sound quality, it's no replacement for a standard home theater setup, but it does the trick.

I got mine for roughly the same price, and it's worth it. Keep in mind the unit doesn't accept any video inputs like an AV receiver would, so you still have to make sure you have enough inputs in your TV or purchase a system selector. Kind of a pain.
