I must have signed up for Kellog's e-mail list because I got it automatically and it was before I registered for the program.

Yeah. If you've done some of their other promotions, there's a option there to sign up. I remember getting an email and code back around when Toy Story 3 launched. I bought a bunch of Mini Wheats on sale at the grocery and got my nephew a Hamm piggy bank.
