Looks like Spiderman 3 got a pretty glowing review from IGN. Seems to be the only platform with a good Spiderman 3 review.

I bought Ultimate Spiderman some time ago and enjoyed it. Controls did feel a little awkwards at time, especially with Venom. Wonder if this new game will be worth checking out as well? Any CAGers pick it up?

I was gonna pick ths up today at CC, but they didn't have it by the time I went there, and I wasn't gonna waste another trip going out there again even when they did have it. I may get it tomorrow, to try and get it with the $5 off still.

But yeah, Ultimate Spider-Man is one of my favorite DS games, so I'm hoping this one will be good as well. I still haven't played Battle for New York, which is supposed to be the sequel to USM, but this one looks as if it's the better game. Heck, it seems on average though, all the Spider-Man games on the DS get pretty good reviews, so I'll probably try to get them all eventually.

Just picked up the game today, and spent about an hour with it. The best way to describe it: it's just the Spider-Man sections of Ultimate Spider-Man, but with touchscreen controls instead of using buttons. There's much more to it of course, but that's just the easiest way of summing it up.

Honestly, while the touchscreen controls work, I wouldn't mind having the buttons back. While the control pad/touchscreen combo is easy enough to use, there's just some times where I would have preferred to use buttons. The system is pretty cool though, and it can be learned pretty quickly. Walking and webslinging is controlled with the control pad, while everything else is done with the touchscreen. All you do is double tap the screen to shoot web, slash the screen in certain directions to punch, kick, and throw enemies, etc.

But yeah, most of the stuff you did in Ultimate Spider-Man is here as well. You still beat up random thugs, you still have to save people from fires and such by taking them to a safe area, you still have boss battles. It is a little less linear than USM, as you can just choose to freely roam around the city instead of progressing though the story, but in the end the game plays similar to it. Of course, none of this is a bad thing, as USM was an awesome game.

Ultimate Spiderman got really bad reviews, but I really enjoyed it. The 10 dollar price tag didn't hurt. Yes, controls were a bad with Venom but it was challenging, looked amazing, and was generally fun. I just got Battle for New York on Ebay for 9 bucks, I'll probably try Ebaying this one as well.

Gamespot gave Spider-Man 3 DS a great review as well, it looks like a solid purchase.
