Split/Second, Blur, or ModNation Racers -

mindsale

CAGiversary!
Anyone beta all three? Anyone play two of three? I'm curious to know more about each - I might pick up the one with the highest Metascore. May's going to be one clusterfuck of a month - only have the budget for one racing title after 3D Dot Game Heroes, Red Dead, and Galaxy 2.

ive played split second and blur on the 360, personally the blur was alot more fun. then again it was multiplayer and the S/S was just single player. blur is a little more arcade feel racing as well, for better or worse. then again, the blur demo had alot more to it, more tracks and cars, so that probably factors in too. just from the demos im going to be getting blur.

Same. I like Blur a lot more than S/S. Haven't played ModNation.

Don't have a PS3 so can't comment on ModNation Racers.

However out of Blur and Splitt Second the majority of people are going with Blur. Why? More fun from both demos.

Yeah, I've written off Split / Second as a semi-Kart racer with just one weapon. I think Blur and ModNation offer much more diversity in their playstyles with shields and stackable weapons - I'll get whichever one has the higher Metascore.

No PS3 so no comment there, but for Blur / SS, while SS wasn't that bad I didn't think, it felt like an arcade racing game with explosions. Blur on the other hand, takes mario kart, and gives it a less kiddy feel to it. I do find it hard to comment on SS though as we didn't get squat in the demo. Blur on the other hand, their demo was fantastic. Being able to do multiplayer and such. I would've liked to see how the multi in SS is, as maybe that'll change people's opinions. Hard to say.

Blur and MNR both look extremely promising. I may actually pick up one of these games at or close to launch. I'll the other title eventually as well...

High hopes for Split Second and didnt care for Blur at first...After playing both, Blur was MUCH more fun to play. S/S gimmick of blowing crap up boiled down to having to draft behind cars to earn "boost" until the meter filled up to execute a stunt, and most of em were just small explosions on the side of the track. And the sense of speed in S/S just wasnt there. Blur wins hands down.
