My daughter just started watching it and I love it. She's like "Daddy, can we watch Spongebob?" and I'm like "Um, OK."

Welcome to 2001?
Watch out for teh innuendoz!
My aunt and uncle won't let their kids watch Sponge bob because of the innuendo.
javery, have you started taking X? The only adults I know that love it to death are pill popping Etards
I think maybe you should put adults in quotation marks. Somehow I think my definition of adult differs from yours.
The one when they start saying dirty words almost made me piss myself the first time I saw it
That was gold.

I used to watch it a bit.. haven't recently though.
"Sailor Mouth" is the best episode ever
What? No way, Band Geeks is the best.
Sponge bob is shit. Invader Zim is where it's at. That's the stuff your kid should be watching!
You need a time machine to watch that, though. It's not like it's ever on anymore.

Invader Zim does indeed rock. Get the DVD boxset. I picked it up for like 18 bucks before Christmas.

Spongebob is pretty entertaining. I LOVE the band geeks episode because David Glenn Eisley sings the big band anthem at the ending (he was the singer for Giuffria).

Danny Phantom is OK and Jimmy Neutron/Fairly Oddparents are tolerable too.

My fav is Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends on Cartoon Network. Almost everything else on either channel is garbage.
No. No it's not. It's made worse by the fact that prepubescent goth girls like that show.
No.
No.
Yes. He's right. The fat mall goth set ruined Vasquez' work. Not unlike how FF7 was ruined by its idiot fans.

I Make POSES with me!

Spongebob> I'm the Open Window MANIAC!

Spongebob> Hooray Gary! We're finally HUGE!

(Random character after any accident/disaster)> My leg!

Some favorite episodes include the Snowball Fight, Rockbottom, Nematoads eating Spongebob's House, where they go to Sandy's dome when she's hibernating, Band Geeks (SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM VICTORYYYYYYY), where Plankton takes over Spongebob's brain...

I'll think of more later. Really great cartoon.

Edit: Invader Zim is indeed the cat's knees and bee's pajamas, all rolled up in a cinnabon of awesome and drizzled with erection juice.

Edit 2: Someone sig that. For I demand it. I mean, if you want.

Trust me. After Elmo, the Wiggles, and Barney -- to have your kid like something that is actually fun for adults to watch is a great thing.

I cringe when I see Hot Topic Gir T-shirts with a "Yo Queiro Taco Bell" speech bubble.

That being said, Invader Zim still rules. It's too bad the show didn't have more of a following in it's time, it could have been saved from the ax.

"I miss you cupcake"

The original stuff is fantastic (How could it not be? The Spongebob staff is almost exactly the same as Rocko), but when they all left...it sunk fast. Real fast.

As for Zim, I knew it was over when my friend's 15 year old "I'm going through that awkward phase with the black eye liner, nail polish, and all" sister was wearing a Zim shirt.

If Rocko's Modern Life ever came out on DVD, I'd probably be the happiest adult in the world.

Between Rocko, The Angry Beavers, and Doug, Nick is sitting on a goldmine of potential DVD sales.

Spongebob promotes a quote "healthy" homosexual lifestyle. It is disgusting and unclean. It also show children that they cannot catch AIDS but that is obsolutely false. Do I want to learn how squeek pickles with Regal Sin type people? I think not! Bumpkis!

Yes. Especially with Doug. I want my original emo/livejournal kid cartoon!

fucking signed. Rocko was the last good show to come out of Nickelodeon. Everything else is an instant fail.

I have to agree, Bloo is the new Spongebob.

The show did have a following durings it's times, IIRC, Nickelodeon axed it anyways because they felt it meshed against all the rest of their programming.

Also, Vasquez was disgusted at the way his cartoon was treated and got fed up.

I think Invader Zim was before it's time... if it premiered years later, on something like Adult Swim, it would have done fantastic.

Just as long as they skip out on Disney Doug. The original Nick Doug was incredible.

I'll add Are You Afraid Of The Dark? (only available on DVD in Canada and through import on Amazon), Salute Your Shorts, and maybe Hey Dude to the list as well.

 This quote is hilarious because I know someone that fits these terms, cept she was hot and put out, so it was ok.

My fav episodes are the Big Giant Weenie and Imagination. My husband really likes Band Geeks, but my kids, hands down, are rolling around in stitches over Dirty Dan and Pinhead Larry every time.

Love Foster's too!

SB-129 is probably my favorite.

SpongeTron: "Everything is chrome in the future!"

There are so many good episodes to choose from.

I'm pretty sure Vasquez was willing to keep going at the time of the cancellation.

All I remember is that Nick kept constantly changing the time for this show, to the point that it was almost impossible to catch. Then the ratings dropped and they cancelled. It was also cancelled around the time of 9/11, and I remember they even refused to air some of the episodes because those episodes portrayed the FBI in a negative light (IE the FBI couldn't catch Zim the alien).

I'm going to somewhat screw this up, but you get the idea:

Sqongebob> Meet my Clones! Spongebob X, Y, and Z.
Squidward> Are the....other letters of the alphabet involved?
Spongebob> Sure! All 436 of them!
Fairly Oddparents is underrated.
By who? Nickelodeon made like 10 movies for it.
Fairly Oddparents is underrated.
The first season was okay. Then it got popular so every episode is pretty formulaic. Then they started with the Jimmy Neutron crossovers, which aren't a bad idea actually, but there's at least three of them, and they aren't spaced out at all. Plus, Timmy looks fuckED UP in 3D.

It does have the occasional hilarious line that goes way over the heads of young children.

Most of the Nick cartoons can't compare to the old ones. Zim was awesome and it got cancelled. Spongebob needs to go back to what it used to be OR be ended. Avatar is cool but I never have time to watch it. Everything else sucks and are just huge derivatives and remixes of stuff superior to them. Ehh.

QFT and FTW
They need to do the entire seasons of AYAotD though, and more seasons of Pete and Pete.
I remember when they'd show these reruns a lot on one of the other Nick stations, but they just stopped. :whistle2:(

Have any of you guys ever gone on the Jimmy Neutron ride at Universal Studios? I geeked out big time, getting to fly through all the different Nicktoons' worlds.

You know it. I'd buy 12 sets.
