I have this game, and I don't know what to do with it. I enjoyed it up to a point on the second disc where you go into an old mine full of giant cats that kill your party off in less than 5 seconds (yeah, I know I didn't get far into the game). Then the game just pisses me off and I put it back on the shelf.

I'm trying to figure out if it's really worth keeping it. I'd have to start over yet again since my memory cards keep disappearing, and I don't have the patience or time to get through the game. But I love the story, and I'd really love to know what happens. But it's just more likely that it's going to sit and gather more dust like it has been the last 9 1/2 years.

Wish the damn game shark codes worked. :wall:

I enjoyed the game although it could be extremely frustrating at times. I also believe it had like 84 different endings or something crazy like that.

I forgot about that. Oh god. The characters could carry on relationships depending on certain conversations, and some of the skills they used like the book writing skill; they could write romance novels. The whole thing turns into a giant harem anime jrpg if you start with Claude and manage to get at least 4 girls on your team.

Yeah, that was a problem... but I think most of those endings were basically the same thing. Based on which characters you got, you got a "different" ending. Each character has an epilogue, so based on which characters you got, you'd see their individual epilogues and that was considered an ending.

But I honestly thought the story was kinda crappy. I don't even remember anything about it.

I liked the fusion thing and the thief glove was awesome! I kind of dug the anime drama story presentation. I was excited to play till the end of time, but it didn't hook me like SOII.

I grabbed this game really cheap during a K-Mart clearance years ago.

Don't think I ever played it. :l

What happens in the end of Star OCean: the second story?

Blah blah you make your way threw the cavern slaying monsters where you eventually meet with Amudeaus ( the self proclaimed Devil in this game, invadors leader, dracula, pretty much the main antaganist of the Tales Series ( doas ) but in this case he is a bio creature ) and have a big battle you win everything goes back to normal. You see the prologe for the next game ( which is way better then this ) and the credits.

THE END.

Is it worth keeping

Will sell high but I would wait until the next game out and...

If it's complete, manual and case, it'll sell for $50-60 dollars on ebay. And no, SO3 is not better than this one, it's much worse. I was such a noob when I played this game, didn't know you couldn't save on the world map so I always tried to find a save point, thus I did a lot and had to watch that cutscene at the beginning of disc 2 like fifty times. Yea, it's a fun game but it's just a standard jrpg with a baddie and you saving the world.

I thought it was a good game. I remember on a separate playthrough I was looking through guides and found a way to get outrageously powerful weapons pretty early on in the game. I was bwallin'.
