Hey all,

I picked up Star Trek Enterprise season 1 for 19.99 at Walmart. Yeah, Worst Star Trek Series Ever, but it did have its moments and 20 bucks was decent for the first season.

Seems a little below market value, since Amazon Marketplace seems to be around 22.00 plus shipping.

I saw this the other day at the Walmart in Exton, PA and couldn't resist picking it up for this price.

I've only seen the First season for 19.99 and I've been eyeballing it for about 2 weeks now. They also may have Stargate STG, the new sets of 5 6 8 9 10 for 14.99 each as well. Wish they had 7 as I need that one and it's odd to see the others and not 7.

I'm just wondering if Enterprise is worth getting or not. I like the cheesiness and sappiness of TNG and Voyager, but I've kept away from Enterprise as it looked more serious affair as well as dark and gritty like a Babylon 9. I tried watching it 3 times on TV, but was totally lost, but I assume it's because I was not watching them right from ep one.

Personally I found Enterprise much more enjoyable than Voyager. Of course Enterprise was canceled just as it was picking up. Certainly worth $20 though.
Did you see any other seasions rcannon? I'd love to pick up the other seasons for 20.00 a piece.
The display had only the First Season of Enterprise.

Wal Mart had the animated series for $14.99 awhile back. I enjoyed Enterprise and would recommend it, the worst Star trek was Deep Space Nine, thank god for Robert Hewitt Wolf creating the Dominian Wars to help enjoy that series.

You know, a few weeks ago I saw these first seasons for $19.99 and commented on, being one of those hardcore Trekkers that bought all of them for $100 a pop (except a few here and there I bought used). I could have waited and saved the money, but I wouldn't have been able to pick one and watch an episode over the past few years as I have.

As for Enterprise, the 4th season is the best (and among Trek's finest, honestly), but the whole show is pretty good. The first two seasons are good, the third one is great.

Remember - Enterprise was shot in HD. Keep that in mind before you piss away money on an outdated format.

To each their own I guess..

As for Enterprise, it's definitely not as good as some of the other series, but I think it has a lot of redeeming characteristics and is underrated.

As a general point, the prices for all of the Star Trek DVDs remain insanely high almost everywhere. No one has told them it's not 1999 anymore. The only one I have on DVD is the Complete TNG, but if they'd ever re-release Voyager or DS9 at a reasonable price point I would be all over them.

:whistle2:s You've got to be kidding, some of the best episodes had absolutely nothing to do with the dominion. Episodes like Far Beyond the Stars, The Visitor etc.

I just watched The Visitor the other day. What a fantastic, touching episode. I think the father and son story could be more touching than The Inner Light-- haven't decided that for sure. Although, like in Star Trek fashion, they just hit the reset button so everything could return to normal. They didn't have much choice though.

Agreed. A lot of people consider The Visitor to be the best episode of Star Trek ever made, I know it gets a little dusty in the room every time I watch it.

I need a refresher, I have not seen DS9 for a few years. What happened in "The Visitor"? The other thing I forgot to mention that I liked about DS9 was Section 31 introduction. The only character I liked in DS9 was Gareck. Sisko was the worst leader (out of all the Star Trek lead roles) and I do not even know why they promoted him to Captain in the series. Oh, I also liked Dr. Bashir, he was my second favorite doctor in the Star Trek series (the only one I liked better was that old lady that took over for Dr. Crusher for one year while Gates McFadden took a leave from TNG). Oh I also still want to see Jadzia Dax naked, but if Seven of Nine was in the room or Troi I would probably pick one of those two to see naked....

Sisko is an awesome captain.

The Visitor is when there is an accident on the Defiant and Sisko seemingly dies. Jake mourns, but moves on eventually. Months later, his dad begins to sporadically appear throughout his life, only to disappear again. At first, Jake tries to lead a normal life, and succeeds by having a wife and career as an author, but later in his life, becomess obessed on saving his dad. When he is much older, he takes a lethal injection that will kill him by the time his dad appears.

It's a very touching episode. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have to say good bye to your father or family member multiple times like that. Everyone can relate to the love of your father, and the love your father has for you, which is why I, and I suspect others, love this episode.
